The legendary Youtube account of famous duo Moymoy Palaboy and Roadfill (known collectively as Moymoypalaboy), just got suspended over some copyright infringement issues on the songs they’ve used in their hit lip synch acts. It is very sad to see the Moymoypalaboy channel-with all its videos, comments, viewcounts– erased from the website.

The 30+ million hits their Youtube videos have garnered since 2007 have not only elevated Moymoypalaboy to their present fame, but also made a phenomenon in Youtube history. Moymoypalaboy with its signature hits such as “Wannabe”, “Marimar”, “Volare”, etc. has earned a following from a lot of fans from all over the world (Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, UK, Germany, Italy, USA) who were captivated by their novel style of miming different songs, and were even inspired to post their own versions of moymoypalaboy videos themselves. Moymoypalaboy has undoubtedly made a feat in Youtube history, as they even placed #40 in the most viewed and #20 most subscribed channel of all time in the “Comedians” category in Youtube.

Youtube has played a very instrumental part in the success of Moymoypalaboy. With all due respect to Youtube and to the makers of the said songs, and to copyright laws, we appeal to them to allow Moymoy and Roadfill to continue doing their thing on Youtube. The videos have not only made a name for Moymoypalaboy, but have also given new twists to the songs they’ve used. We hope that the makers of the songs they’ve “lip-synched” would appreciate how Moymoypalaboy has further popularized their music. The videos they’ve made have become a big source of entertainment for many, and were not, in any way, made for commercial use.
