This petition is compiled by Mr. Lenio's former ICS/ToK students.

We have received word that Mr. Lenio will no longer be allowed to continue teaching at ICS. We thought we'd let you know how influential Mr. Lenio has been in our academic life.

All of us who have signed this petition have high regard for our teacher Mr. Lenio. We hope that our voice serves as a testimony of his good work. He has made a positive mark in our lives, and we have no doubt ICSers would be missing out on the incredibly rewarding experiences we cherish as ICS alumni if Mr. Lenio was no longer allowed to teach.

We sincerely urge you to reconsider your decision. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I fully support this petition. He is the best teacher I have ever had. He should be lauded for his teaching style and his passion for shaping young minds. It will be a tragic day when ICS students will not have the opportunity to be engaged by such an amazing teacher.

I actually don't know how I didn't get to sign this petition all this time, but I absolutely support this petition!!! I also want to say that even if we may not be heard by those who "have the power", I think voicing our opposition is worth the while!!!

I fully support this petition. Mr. Lenio and Mr. Wills are outstanding teachers and it would be a great loss for the students of the ICS if their contracts will not be renewed.I always admired the ICS but considering this awkward action of the administration, it does cast a weird light on the school...unfortunately!

Mr.Lenio was one of the most influencial teacher I have ever had. Even in University it is rare to find an educator so dedicated to his students and their growth as individuals. I will always remember his and Mr. Will's patience and persistance; I hope that many other students will be privileged enough to be taught by Mr. Lenio and Mr. Wills

Mr. Lenio and Mr. Wills. Why is it that we can all remember these teachers after so long? I don't remember some of my college instructor's names---really

There are not enough words that could ever explain what a great teacher Mr.Lenio was for me.He has been one of the most influential people in my life.He gave me the bases on which I was able to built along my further studies and along my life. Not only did he give me an education together with other teachers at ICS,but he encouraged in me and in my friends something very few teachers or professors are able to.To have the curiosity for knowledge and for life.He challenged us to think outside the"normal every day way",use our minds in order to see things from a different and maybe even better point of view.He made us understand how important it is to fight for what we believe in and never to give up,even when things seem to go against us.He encouraged us to reach our full potentials and even more.Taught us to give respect, courtesy and a smile to all, even to those that don't deserve it.He taught us to be men and women of honor, just like he is. It would be more than a shame for ICS to lose such a sensational teacher like Mr. Ted Lenio.I truly hope you will stop for a moment and read what we all have written from all over the world, and reconsider your decision.

Let's look at the alternative: ICS will be losing what makes it ICS if it loses Mr Lenio. Too many schools teach students how to be obedient machines who live accepting what is, never questioning or looking deeply into anything. ICS will join this league of schools by letting go a teacher like Mr Lenio, who encourages students to think instead of become robots. Is that what ICS wants for its students? Is that what ICS wants for the world?

We all know teaching is a very hard job. And we all know good teachers are a rare breed. When a teacher of Mr. Lenio's quality still has the passion and drive to want to continue after so many years, I think it's absolutely insane not to take him up. There are a few things high school wouldn't have been the same without, and Mr. Lenio and his classes are among the top five on that list. For the good of the students, managment should really reconsider.

Growing up with your parents being diplomats, you get used to travelling a lot and saying goodbyes to a lot of people, so after awhile one gets the hang of it. but i am not ready to say goodbye to Mr. Lenio because he is an amazing teacher and person. if ICS fires Mr. Lenio after all this, they will be hypocrites because in all the student handbooks, it says we are a community. even the school is called the international community school. if we are a community aren't we supposed to work together so that we can make the school a better place for all of us? i think so. so i support this petition and i hope that there are more signatures on here because i want Mr. Lenio for TOK next year. PLEASE PEOPLE!

Mr. Lenio is a freakin' amazing teacher, his passion and engagement in what he does is unparalleled and his brilliance has baffled several generations of studets and teachers alike. He teaches without limiting and enlightens without sounding condescending. I think ICS is so extremely lucky to have got him and I think we would be insane to let him go. He is not just adequate as in he can teach classes, he is incredible, one of a kind. I hav en't had a teacher like him, like ever, and the idea that the administration would even consider doing this leaves me speechless, well, actually obviously not speechless, I mean, what the f! My game plan, so much better. If he is willing to stay three more seconds, YOU KEEP HIM! If he willing to stay a year, YOU KEEP HIM! If he is willing to deign to remain with us for another 15 yrs, YOU KEEP HIM, damn it!!! The decision is not that hard to make, the most freakin' fabulous teacher like ever or anyone else. The most insanely passionate teacher I have ever had, or anyone else. An all expense paid trip to Germany 2006, with tickets to all the games, and I mean smell the grass tickets, or a walk up the steps of the amphitheatre. People we have a no-brainer here. What bothers me is I can't even think of an argument against this, even if I wanted to play devil's advocate, so yeah... And yeah I totally support this petition.

The consequences of loosing Mr. Lenio would be grave and devastating to all in ICS. Mr. Lenio's dedication and intellect is one of a kind, and can NEVER BE REPLACED by anybody. The fact that ICS is even considering taking away the opportunity for students, to be educated by an individual of such a high stature is beyond me.

I support this petition. Mr. Lenio has been the greatest teacher at ICS. He has been an inspiration to both students and teachers these past 17 years. Isn't it a form of dictatorship to fire a faculty member without telling him/her why? IT is insane, and cruel. Mr. Lenio has only been good to us(students). He says he loves to teach and it is his favorite thing in the world. It would be cruel to take that away from him, cruel. We are Mr. Lenio's family, and we are not going to let him leave us like this.

I support this petition. Were these teachers not doing their jobs well enough? Or do they just listen to students' opinions too much? Honestly, I disagree with most of the things that Mr. Lenio says. The fact that students can say anything contrary to what he believes without being told "You're wrong" or being completely ignored has to be recognized. And can you really find a better TOK teacher for next year? If his contract is not renewed, then this year's juniors don't have much to look forward to for next year. We don't know what kind of psycho we might get. All grades below 12th will suffer a great loss if he does not return. And we can't forget Mr. Wills. I have taken band with him for almost 5 years and have become a better musician than I ever hoped for. He also cares a great deal about what students think. Yet any time he has mentioned any student's concern about anything, he has gotten an official blowoff. Is he being fired for saying anything at all? ICS needs these teachers. They don't want to leave. We don't want them to leave. Don't fire them for doing their jobs too well.
