This petition is compiled by ICS students and alumni who treasure the impact Mr. Wills has made on the school and in their own lives.

We, the undersigned, hereby voice our support for Mr. Wills to be able to continue teaching at ICS. We give these testimonies as evidence of the caliber of faculty that will be sorely missed should the Administration's and Board's current position stand.

We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I support this petition. Without trying to sound dramatic, it will be absolutely impossible to find another teacher of such determination, patience and dedication. Band class gave us a sense of fun which we didn't find in other classes. Please, please, reconsider Mr. Wills' contract---you will be making a huge mistake otherwise.

It's been nearly 8 years since I left ICS, but I still remember Mr. Wills and band class like it was yesterday. Thanks to him we learned to play instruments and found music fun. He's a great teacher.

I support this petition. Band class with Mr. Wills was a great experience, and I believe it was due to Mr. Wills' dedication and love for teaching. He not only taught us how to play our instruments, he was patient with the slow learners, while also challenging the more advanced students. I know I speak for others when I say - band class was super - which was evident by the way we all played our instruments at the after school concerts, UN Day, and graduation. Please reconsider your decision, and re-new Mr. Wills' contract. Thank you.

I’ve had Mr. Wills as a teacher from the first day he joined ICS, to my last day six years later. Aside from the three instruments he instructed me to play, he inspired me to appreciate reading and hearing classical, jazz, and others form of music that otherwise I would only hear on occasion out of choice. It is his unique patience, tenacity, and discipline ethic that draws the line between him and others instructors and it is thanks to his willpower ICS was present at the Rhythms of the Sun music festival in Dar Es Salaam, the UN, ECA, and various schools and organizations around Addis. ICS is the only school in Ethiopia to offer band in its curriculum,, and it should be proud to have it led by a very well respected and appreciated instructor.

Mr. Wills was my band teacher for four years. His teaching went beyond simply asking us to read and play the pieces. He taught us how to appreciate the instruments and the music.Once you appreciate the music, you find that you are not driven by the grade but by actually wanting the music you play to sound flawless. It is his dedication that ensured that. I strongly support this petition.

mr. wills..i remember hearing so much great stuff about him that i could not wait to get to sixth grade so i could be in a band class: i cant imagine an ICS without mr.wills. it is more than the job. it is the devotion and the undeniable love for music that he shares with his students. it enlightened my mind and awakened my talent. we cant lose him.

After six years of being under his instruction, I can not understand why the administration would want to fire Mr. Wills. Losing him would be knocking out another disc in the backbone of the ICS community. Please, for the sake of the school and future students, do not do this.

I can play the clarinet and have a deep appreciation for music because of Mr. Wills. He not only taught me how to play music, he taught me how to love music. My life is richer because of his lessons. As an ICS alumna I ask that you please reconsider enriching the lives of current ICS students by making sure they have the best teachers - and that list includes Mr. Wills.

Mr. Wills is the closest ICS will come to a Mr. Holland. Please reconsider your decision.

I can't imagine why ICS would want to lose such a kind-hearted and wonderful man like Mr. Wills? Taking band with him was such a joy for three years and his enthusiasm to be patient with even the most tone-deaf person is astounding.

From four years of band with Mr. Wills, including a year of independent one on one study, I can say ICS will have difficulty finding another teacher with his enthusiasm, talent and love of teaching.

Mr. Wills is more than just the reason behind why I can play the trumpet. He is a man who devoted so many years to the school, at UN Day, at concerts, at graduation... any time I think about Pomp & Circumstance I remember the gym and Mr. Wills conducting. He is a tireless instructor who, as a result, has brought music to so many of our lives.
