i think we should be able to have confederate flags in our school b/c it isnt a sign of racism it's a sign of herritage.

The confederate flag is a religous flag, a heritage flag and a military flag. Most sotherners are Scottish and that is the red, the blue is the St. Andrews cross, and of course the thirteen stars represent the thirteen CSA, Confederate States of America.

I think that this suspending youngins from school for wearin our flag is pure bull. i am in tenth grade and people at my school get suspended all the time for our flag. its about time we put a stop to it and wear our flag again! the south WILL rise again

because I think we should be able to be openly proud of our Southern heritage and be able to wear clothes with a Rebel flag on it anytime and anywhere we please. I am proud of it and I will take it to my grave with me because that is one thing NOBODY can or ever will take from me. My Southern Pride-Wave a Rebel Flag!!!

I believe that being treated like this(not being able to wear what we want, or being represented by a stupid flag instead of the one we want-the Rebel Flag! Yall we didn't get a choice in wether we got to keep it or not! It was stolen from us!) this is just going to make us madder and madder until we deside we aint gonna take it no more. What then??? When are we going to take enough of this crap and secede again and live in peace like we should??? Keep your Confederate money boys because the South is gonna rise again!!!

I attend lakeview high school and recently i was forced to turn my shirt inside out because of a confederate flag, and then the next day i was sent home because i wore another shirt with a confederate flag on it, he told me that it had to do with slavery and racism witch is bull **** because i was talking to a black teacher her and she told me that the confederate flag had nothing to do with racism or slavery and that it does not offend her or anything. so right now im just planning out what im going to do to turn this around and allow us to wear confederate flags in school.

I support this petition b/c it is a sign of our ancestors fighting for what they beleived inand what they thought was right and if it were another race wearing it it wouldnt matter as much so why does it matter when we wear it!!!!!

Since my daughter was sent home from school here in Tennessee for wearing a rebel flag, I have purchased a 20 foot flag pole and will start flying the rebel flag proudly in my yard this weekend. I support the flag. Schools across east Tennessee are now banning the flag from sporting events and school property, but they sure as hell can not ban it from my yard. Keep up the fight, wave a rebel flag !!

i've served 1 year on the battle field of iraq. I'll wear any shirt with the confederate flag on it if i want to. I dare anyone to tell me to take it off, cause were gonna fight. I have rights, i fought for them, and im damn sure gonna use them. whoever doesnt like that, well get a straw and suck it up. i got my heritage and im not afraid to stand for it. just be glad we had slavery, it taught half the black community to work. hell now adays hardly any of them do. coinsedence? not hardly..get off wellfair and foodstamps and do like me, work for your damn money..sorry i had to vent.

I support this petition. I totally agree that the rebel flag should be able to be shown anywhere anyone wants to fly it. I was outraged by them taking it down off of the courthouse in SC and anyone who thinks its a symbol of racism and hate is clearly uneducated.

we believe that banning of the Confederate Battle Flag by public schools is a violation of students right to freedom of speech as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Further, these unconstitutional bans discriminate against persons of Southern heritage and are an insult to those who have Confederate ancestors. Such discrimination is a violation of the Civil Rights act of 1964
