Upon reading the mangas (unfortunately I haven't seen much of the anime), I have to say that, if the series aired on Toonami, there would have to be several edits.... One of many being, of course, Naruto's "Sexy no Jutsu" or "Harem no Jutsu", where he turns into one or many naked women; this move reappears quite a few times. Other than that, blood is practically necessary in an anime where knives and shurikens are lobbed around. There's a lot of blood and stuff happening, and all the editing could make for a very confusing amount of 'sweat' or 'spittle' flying, as in Dragonball Z. And... why not the occasional swear thrown in to show the seriousness of a character's situation? Adult Swim is the only way these kinds of things that help make this anime so enjoyable can be retained in a release onto Cartoon Network.
It's rather apparent that the episodes would have to be severely edited at times if it appears on Toonami. Please preserve the greatness of the show that caused it to appeal to you in the first place. Please put Naruto on the Adult Swim block.
Naruto would be better if it was uncut under the adult swim programming for its graphic violence, and languages. Don't let Naruto suffer the same fate as Drangon Ball Z!
This anime is too hardcore for our younger viewers because of the complex violence that it has and with the complex storyline children would just say that it is stupid
Put Naruto on Adult Swim and not Toonami. I have seen the real version of it and I can imagine what you will do to it if it goes to Toonami. Plus there are things in the show that really can't be dubbed or they will make no sense! Also there are things that younger children will not be able to understand (for example: when the sound ninjas explain how they attack using sound)!
Neddles percing people, bugs cralwing out of someone's skin, sand crushing people's bodies, a manman trying to turn a 12-year-old boy evil (or take his body), and to top it all off an evil insane fox demon and sand demon living inside two boys! Can young viewers handle that, can you really dub all of that?! Put it on Adult Swim! (please)
I think Naruto belongs on Adult Swim. I am an adult who enjoys the program very much (when I catch it). It would be better suited to later programming. I believe kids will not be as interested in this series as adults are. this series is for a more mature audience.
Many of the themes that make naruto as good as it is are geared toward older people. The younger people who watch toonami would likely not understand the complexity of naruto and sasuke's relationship, and many of the themes are too subtle for children to catch at all.
Let's think about this: if Naruto goes on Toonami, what will become of poor Erosen'nin? And Orochiamru is pretty hardcore for them younguns, killing his teacher. We've had enough of that as of late, lol. It's really pretty simple, the amount of cuts Toonami will have to make to put Naruto on the air and not get a millino and a half parents breathing down their necks is insane. PLEASE, Cartoon Network, make the right choice, put Naruto on [adult swim].
Naruto is an anime for a more adult audience and will lose much of its appeal to the audience should it be changed from its original version. Adult Swim is a better place for an anime such as this one.

Yes, we are talking about cartoons here (though a lot of anime fans will argue that they're not cartoons), but let's use an adult word. Say, "animation". Animation is not just something for children to enjoy. It's an art that is made up of many other art forms. There's music, drawing, directing, acting, painting (for backgrounds in many cases), and many others that are escaping me at the moment. The people that write (there's another art) or do any work for these are not children, and they choose whom their project is geared towards. In Japan, the children are exposed to a lot of things considered too mature for their American counterparts. Also, I'm not worried about acting like an adult. The plain truth is that I'm a horrible, horrible *******. Naruto is coming on tv. I'm seem to be the only fan in America to want it on Toonami, but hey, you're never coming back to read this.

Come on, is Naruto really "mature"? It's for kids - teens, though it could still appeal to an older crowd. You're really under-estimating what a younger person can comprehend, and I'm willing to bet that the bulk of you people signing this are about 14 years old. You're not an adult, even if you think you're more mature than your age group. I myself am 18, and I think that Naruto is not mature enough (outside the blood and gore, which isn't as important as you think) to be considered an "adult" show. I don't care if one of Naruto's moves has him appear to be a naked chick, if you complain about them covering it up a little more, you're likely a sad, sad wreck.
Cartoon Network's been working very hard trying to turn Toonami into something fit for teens, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how they handle Naruto. What I'm doing is just trying to convice you all that it's not the end of the wolrd, because this petition isn't going to change Naruto's placement at all. I suspect that they'll put it on right before Futurama, and keep it as unedited as possible; Cartoon Network is well aware of the following this property already has, they ARE NOT going to do anything to upset the possible fanbase. Being a person that follows the tv show and manga every week (straight from japan), I think I know well enough how mature the show is. It's below adult level, just like Inu Yasha, but this time it's not too late to put Naruto in its rightful place. Don't count Toonami out yet, this show will be much more intact than you think.
Please keep Naruto as close to the original format as possible! it is definatly not something that should be put on Toonami, I cant think of an anime better suited for [as] than Naruto, to take out all of the mature parts of it would seriously butcher the show!
It would be a shameful mistake on CN's behalf for Naruto to be aired on Toonami. Adult Swim is better suited for the adult-oriented themes, violence, and language. Censorship means destroying an artist's work.

I am was glad to hear that naruto was comming to Cartoon Network, but i cant see why it wouldnt be on adult swim. Naruto confronts issues that are for mature eyes and ears. Plus I wouldnt want to see Naruto butchered just so that it can be aired on Toonami.

Many issues in Naruto are geared toward teenagers around 14+, and as such, the brutal massacre of an entire familiy and wanting to kill your brother hardly sounds like something for young children. People can be irrisponsible.
Its very logicalto actually put a very brutal and bloody show such Naruto, on Adult Swim instead of Toonami. I don't see Inuyasha on Toonami anytime soon, unless you plan too, which I'd advise not too as well. But it just wouldn't be Naruto with-out the loud dirty mouthed Shinobi that the main character is.
Naruto has some rather mature themes that run through the story that will likely be glossed over for the younger audiences that will be watching it earlier in the day. To run the show as such is a diservice to fans and disrespectful to the creator.

Naruto is not really children oriented! It's for teenagers mostly and not the younger ones! On the A.S. it'll be a hit still because so many fans are that dedicated! Toonami is for children now! It's changed to much to give Naruto a proper home. Move it ti the adult swim please?
I don't stereotype cartoons for little kids, you imbecile. NARUTO, got that NARUTO is for kids. Children in Japan are allowed to see more than American kids, but that doesn't make the show ADULT all of a sudden. Most people that know anything about animation think it should go to Toonami. The show is going to be the next DBZ. How can that happen if it's on AS? Naruto is for kids. Shows like "Cowboy Bebop" and "Ghost in the Shell" are aimed at teens - adults. Naruto is just a kids show that is so good that all ages are attracted to it. Naruto is a great show. I love it to pieces, but it's for kids, okay? Please put Naruto on Adult Swim. If you put Naruto on Toonami it would be edited. And when its edited the show is never really the same as the original un-edited version.

Naruto for Adult Swim- if it's true that Adult Swim has been approved for it's own channel, what better way to get viewers than to show Naruto on their new channel? Keep the distribution company the same (Sho Pro?-VIZ), as they also produce the manga- and that hasn't been bastardized yet, so they have my trust.
It should go on Toonami. It's not for adults. Naruto is a little kid, people. If you want to see the gore, you can watch the sure-to-be uncut DVDs. I also don't think it will be edited as much as you think.
