really all animes should be straight up UNCUT and put on AS or somewhere else.I mean many things in anime is switched for the general child audience and if the audience doesn't like it they ditch it witch means that a good anime was just trashed because of a small amount of the real audience

What they thinking putting it on Toonami!? I mean OMFG(Oh my fudge god, my version) they have issues! So what if the characters are 12-13ish!! They stabb people through the heart with there bloodied hands!!!! And I hate how the cut it by the way...every fight seen has only smidgets of blood. I mean come on!!! Come on. THEY CUT OUT THE KISSING SCENE IN EPISODE 3!! That's like the best part. And they cut out when he stabbed his hand. That wasn't very violent at all... Since they cut out so much violence, what will happen w/ the Naruto Sasuke fight? Like when he gets impaled thru the chest? They can't just cut that out... It's an important part of the story! I'm usually very lenient about what anime is put where, but this is too much. Naruto definitely has more appeal to an older audience, and Toonami is too freaking picky. Eventually they're going to cut out so much of the violence that the plotline will just be nil. I SUPPORT THE PETITION!
Having watched 173 and counting episodes of Naruto in japanese, as well at the 20 or so aired on toonami, I can say that keeping it on toonami is a mistake. Naruto is a more adult anime, and just because the characters are teens now, doesnt mean they stay teens for long. The storyline gets a lot darker as the series goes on, and it's not something you can edit the violence out of without ruining the message of the show. Keeping on toonami is depriving the american fans of expieriencing Naruto the way it was intended to be seen... "Believe it" God... I'm so sick of that catch phrase...

Sweet mother of Sasuke, get it on Adult Swim! I have been thinking this ever since I heard that Naruto would be coming to Toonami (AAAACK!). Sure, I get mine online, anyways, but I'm not always online and I want my anime to be clean and not take so long to get on a BitTorrent connection. Actually, adult swim seems the perfect candidate for having Naruto. They wouldn't have this horrid censored stuff that barely even has the storyline right! Agreed, also they had to alter the show quite a bit just to air it at all, I to watch the Japanese version for it's far better than the dubbed one. This series has been destroyed by bad dubbing.
In more objective aesthetic terms, dubbing DOES nerf the quality of an art piece. This is because different cultures have different kinesics... different body language to match their cultural norms and use of verbal language.
Anime was developed to have highly exaggerated movements and expressions to match the highly expressive voice acting. American actors just don't have the training to pull it off right, and even if they did American culture doesn't use the animated speech that anime does.
Dubbing results in a product that either has mismatched expressive body language and toned-down speech, or it has expressive language and expressive speech, but turns out sounding really really gay.
Dubbing loses on both counts.
Naruto is really intended for an older audience so I would really like if you put it into AdultSwim. Even if the majority of characters are about twelve years old, that doesn't mean to just cut out some violence and blood that was in the original. Naruto was- and is not intended for 9 to 10 year olds, as Ito Miyako stated.
If you have to dubb it, at least put an undubbed, non-censored version somewhere on television, for the sake of most newbies and veterans alike (ie. AdultSwim or some higher rated channel maybe?).
Then again, Zack is right. The company is just doing their ... job. We'll live one way or another. ...yeah.

And, being from Japan, I can see how much people have ruined anime by dubbing it they way they do.
I understand that they would need to change the opening and closing for commercial times, but that doesn't mean that they have to cut out and edit stuff within the show to make it suitable for children.
I have seen many anime when I was in Japan, and when I moved to Canada, I see how badly they've ruined them. One Piece, for another example.

546: Actually, you're wrong. The Naruto dub is pretty good. Original music is kept, they are not many cuts and edits. And the reason they changed the opening and closing is for commercial time. So if you don't like the dub, go back to watching your fansubs.

Here we go again..Cartoon network mistaking another Japanese anime for a Nickelodeon show. LISTEN these shows are made for adults, not for 10 year old kids..just because Naruto and the gang is 12 doesn't mean the show is for 12 year olds.
All I have to say is that Cartoon Network is RUINING NARUTO. This should be a petition to take it off the air in America. After the first season, this show is one of the best animes I have ever watched in my life..and Cartoon Network is making it into a laughing pile of crap. I am very upset at the way they are handling the voices..everyone sounds out of place and the voices dont match the facial emotions at all. And on top of that they are cutting out all the blood..it really adds onto the show..it makes you see how hard naruto works..and what he goes through to reach his goals.. Seriously CN, you are losing profits by doing such a ****ty job with this anime, hire real actors..take time to dub it instead of recording people reading a script..and put it on adult swim for christ sakes..there is no way in hell you can show another episode after the first season with out cutting out half of the show.
Naruto is b far the best shinobi anime yet, and it's being ruined by editing the crap out of it! They cut out all the good stuff (i.e: Blood, cursing, the smooch between Naruto and Sauske), and if it's bad now, just a few episodes in the series, just imagine the agonizing cruelty that will come in the future episodes! It's a ninja show, for crying out loud! There's suppossed to be blood! Besides, edited versions of good shows just suck. Just as long as Adult Swim doesn't take away any good shows for Naruto, I'm good.

Naruto is one of my favorite animes/mangas as of this time. I really don't like the idea of one og my favorite characters (Haku) being turned into a girl. They made the whole "On the pain of this hand, I'll protect you" seem like it was really nothing, because they made the blood not appear too much. There's so much more I can talk about, but I'd rather not... (The kiss scene's absence ticked me off the most though...)

I really do not understand why in the world such a wonderful anime would appear on Toonami. I find editing anime useless and horrible, considering it ruins long anime and you have to wait years just for uncut editions to come out afterwards, whereas not editing it at all would result in less work and hassle for both the people working on the dubbing and the people looking to purchas the anime.
At first when I found out that Naruto was going to show on Toonami, I was all like... ehh.... They could have at least showed it to Adult Swim, I mean that would help a lot, it'd be easier for the editors since there are less scenes to cut, it will also help the fans so they can rejoice to save some of the sanity that is left to Naruto after showing it to liittle kids that are shouting "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" psha dont make me kage bunshin your butt....
