*To Disney* This petition is mearly to show the support of a wonderful idea. Please take this into consideration when reading the idea of this New Disney Channel for teens. Thanks for taking the time and we all hope that this will become a reality.



This petition is for a new Disney Channel to be added to cable. Now it is just an idea, and this is mearly to show Disney executives support for a new channel.

My idea is to start a new channel, put out by Disney, that would be aimed at young to mid-aged teenagers. My case behind it is that the regular Disney channel is getting a little inmature for us with shows like "The Buzz on Maggie", "Braceface", and "Brandy and Mr. Whiskers". The next network up would have to be ABC/ABC Family that the Walt Disney Company controls. Now some of the shows on ABC and ABC Family are a little mature for our age, and plus some dislike the genre of some of the shows on ABC and ABC Family. Networks like MTV and NBC are gaining popularity with our age group with shows that aren't the best for us. This new channel would pose new market and business for the Walt Disney Company. Many teenagers enjoy watching some of the shows on Disney Channel, but at the same time dislike some of the other shows. This would be a good way to entertain another age group. I believe that Disney is currently trying to entertain different age groups for youngsters to teenagers with one channel. And it is now getting crampped. Just imagine a channel that puts out quality shows that teenagers will like to watch. Imagine a channel that would totally different and new for cable television or television in general.

Now what would actully be shown on a channel like this? Well shows like That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, Bug Juice, Famous Jett Jackson, Boy Meets World, Sister Sister, 7th Heaven, So Weird, Phil of the Future, The Jersey, In a Heartbeat, etc. And maybe even new shows that would be made just for this new channel. Something that many of us would also like would be not having a limited episode policy like the 65 episode policy for the current Disney Channel. Many of us love some of the shows like Lizzie McGuire that just get good and then are suddenly and abruptly ended due to that 65 episode policy. Movies would also be a good idea to add to this new channel. But movies that fit our age group...nothing like Pooh bear. More like Harry Potter.

If some of the Disney executives took the time and read some of the message boards that are on http://www.imdb.com under their shows, I am certain that they will find the same points that I have listed above.

I agree that it's about time Disney had more shows aimed toward teenagers. What happened to all of the good shows like Smart Guy, So Weird, Boy Meets World, Even Stevens?? They showed a more realistic vision of what teens are like, rather than the episodes now that only portray fluffed up spoiled rich kids. The old school shows dealt with things that would happen in every day life [with the exception of so weird], and disney channel needs more of that.

No, I don't support it because of High School Musical, Hannah Montana, and The Jonas Brothers, all three of which are the most undeservingly popular piles of **** I have ever come across. And, the fact that High School Musical 2 turned out to be the most watched program of all time means that America's lost their goddamned taste in good television!
