i'm 14 and i want a job to buy things you sould be able to work for at least 2 hours a day to get somewht money i am still having to wait tell my birthday to get some moneys this is bs we should be able to work when we are 12
I am 12 years old and I am trying to get money for a wii. I know this is kind of selfish but I also want to get money to go to movies with my friends. Now unlike some kids my age I don't get money for good grades or anything like that. I keep saying over and over again, "I wish I could get a job." Infact, I wouldn't care if I got less than minimum wage. I just want money really badly.
I'm 12 and i'm in first year, but people mistake me for being in 4th year, and say i'm WAY to mature for my age!!!P.S- I really don't have much to do with my life so getting a job would be really great!!!
I am 12 and verry responsible and and very reliable. I was going to get an internship at my favorite magazine but I can't because I don't live in Maryland. I want a fun job like working at a clothes store, Claires, fun stuff. Not mopping floors at McDonalds. My mom is excited that I want a job. I want a job because it will be my momey, and I will spend it on what I want. I can't even buy a freakin ipod because I have to buy it. I only get money from Christmas and my Birthday which are both in December. In fact my birthday is today. Money one month out of a year, come on I get good grades and do every thing right. I want a fun job, 12 year old are smart and stuff. We are not the dating, parting, teens, we are responsible, WHY NOT LET !@ YEAR_OLDS HAVE FUN JOBS??!!!
Im 12 years old and definitely think that they should allow 12 year olds to be allowed to do at least little jobs! we are definitely smarrt enough... im in seventh grade and have a algebra class so i guess that proves it! Whenever my ask money from my parents they always say no so i think getting a job will help! I really need a job... not the one like a lemonade stand or pet sitting... A real one!

I think it is so unfair that 12 year olds can't work. Some of us 12 year olds are responsible! We are not dumb! We would learn how to use a cash register in like 10 mins! It is so easy to work at a restaurant! Like What the Hell? We Can't wait an other 2 years! OMG! We Can work at Cash registors! Restaurants, like yeah! Clothes stores! That would be so easy! We have needs! MY Ipod just broke and my parents said if i want a new one, i have to buy it myself! So im saying that US 12 YEAR OLDS SHOULD GET JOBS! PLEASE GOVERNMENT! WE NEED JOBS!!! I Support! I am 12 and I need a job. I want to move out of this hell hole of a house into a small apartment or something thats comfortable enough. I dont have enough money and have been skipping lunches to save up, but thats only 20 dollars a week, I can't live on 20 dollars a week, so I really need a job!
I support this decision, because I have just turned 12 and i have a late birthday so i have to wait EXTRA long to get a job legally. I think they should lower the working age, 'cause i need a job, to live independantly and to get things i want. I want to go snowboarding, but my parents will not buy me my equipment nor will i rent it. I'm going to learn to snowboard probally on my upcoming activity day. But still I probally would want to snowboard more often but i can't 'cause of my parents. I think they should let us get a job, 'cause when i ask my parents for money they say that they work for it and i'm like "I would work for it but i can't get a fucking job" I'm not going to wait, and i have to wait extra long anyways 'cause of my late birthday. UGH! So let us work, 'cause i will not babysit, little kids scare the heck out of me, and i will not do chores around the house 'cause even when i do i barely even get paid even when i try my hardest. Let me feel independant! I hate feeling so trapped. I'm so bored to, so i'm like becomming unhealthy 'cause i dislike going out with my friends and stuff. I don't know why, but i need a job to keep me intact, i need the money.
I think it is a good idea to be able to get jobs when you're 12 years old because if we want something our parents will say you have to save money and we want to have money so when we get older we get a nice car or buy our own clothes
This is a very good idea. Whenever I want something Mom always says "As soon as you get a job." I do not want to wait much longer just to get a cute shirt.
I totally agree! Kids 12 and older should be able to apply and get real jobs. As long as teh grades are up and the child is responsible it should be fine. But the employer shoudl have the responsibility of keeping the child safe and in a good atmosphere.
I support this petition because there should be many jobs for kids like us and just becuase we're younger dosn't meen we dont want or need any money!!!
because my parents wont let me get anything practically w/o me buying it and i have NO MONEY so that means i get NOTHING! and i really really really NEED a cell phone...im 12!
I think that this petition is a good idea because I am always looking for a good way to earn money but there are never any jobs that offer jobs to a kid under 14.
I totally support this because sometimes us kids need a job so we can get around the world and pay for our own things without having to ask our parents. Plus we could save money for important things like colleage and a car!
Yea i am 12 and i wish that i would have a job of my own. i mean 12 year olds are just as responsible. I am in 7th grade and i would like my own job. why is it so bad for 12 year olds to have jobs. all we need is resume if u dont want to hire us fine but give us a chance.

I defineitely soppurt ths petition because all I can do for a job right now is mow lawns wash cars baby st rake leavces trim hedges and you don't get much. you are lucky if you get $20 fr doing all those things
I support this petition becasue for some of us, our parents say that we don't need something that we won't & they wont give us the money. Now if we were allowed to get a job at 12 we could get what we want while at the same time show responsibility. I totally agree with this perition. ehhx oh.
