I support this becuase im 12 years old turning 13 and i really need a job to it is true that most of children parents want to be more indeoendent and responsible.the children can also help their parents with something small like for exoample complete with the rent buy some food to eat.etc... i really thinnk that children with 12 and 13 years of age should have the right to work you may think that theor not old or mature enough but you may be surprise of how smart and responsible they are if you only give them a chance i anyelimar sanchez 12 years of age have a sinlge moyther that has to kid one of 12 years old and one of 18 years old my sister has her onw job but she also has a baby of 6 moths of age and needs to buy her formula diapers bottle...etc but in my moms case she works very hard to give us what we need she works a baout 8 to 9 hours a day even sumtimx till 12 in the morning the next day and i dont think its fair i think i have to do something to helo her she cant always do everything so i think that i should have the right in working becuase i think i could be a very responsible person!

This is too true. It's so unfair 12 year olds don't have the same opportunities for jobs as like 14 year olds. I'm 12 and I really need a job. I'm saving for a DS Lite. Also I'm writing a report on why kids should be allowed to have jobs in school. That's where I am right now actually. X3

i think people age 12 and older should be allowed to have a job. I k ow i want one because i really want more responsibility, and i want more money to buy things that i want which i can't get from my parents because they want me to earn it myself, but how am i supposed to earn it if i can't have a job.
I understand that they think we are to inexperienced but some of us want to try and want to test our responsibility.Also with everyone these days having phones to contact there parents if their out or need a lift for example, then we need to learn how to earn our money to look after ourselves. i am 12 and i really want a job i will do nearly any job there is i would like to work in a hair salon though but only part time or in boots or superdrug or just babysitting or something (i'm really good with little kids) but like it's illegal to work unless your 14 and thats shit even when you are 14 in some jobs you still cann't work ful time anyway and on't we all need the work experience!

i believe everything your saying and i am also 12 with nothing to do but school i am looking for a good job but can not find one thats why children begin to spend their time doing something thats not constructive. I am twelve and as soon as i turned it i knew i wanted to get a job because i am not like other kids I like to by stuff with my money to say that i earned it and i can't live off of the amount i get for my alounce, sure I earned it but u can't buy anything nice for yourself or your family with 5 dollars. not now not tomorrow not in 20 years! so why not it won't hurt us and its not child labour if i am not be hurt emotinaly or in any other way!! if someone 1 year or 2 years older can do then why can't we. chances are there not gifted at pressing buttons as a cashier or anything lie that! anyone can swip something and pess buttons and say have a nice day with a smile!!!!!!!
