This petition was created to encourage the NHL Owners Association, and the NHL Players Association to solve the dispute about the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. And end the LOCKOUT! So the NHL, the greatest professional sport league in the world, can resume play once again. It seems they have both forgotten who really matters....... us the fans!!!

The lock out is a result of some issues that need to be resolved. There are major concerns about revenue distribution and the long term sustainability of the league. The fact the players are holding out such a long time is to the benefit of you hockey enthusiasts. Suck it up, get over it and go play at your local outdoor rink if you miss it that much.

What really scares me is that I haven't missed the game as much as I should! I love hockey and I love my Toronto Maple Leafs and to think that even I haven't missed it to an extreme is a clear message to all parties involved. Think if one of your DIE HARD fans is only mildly effected think of the rest of your fans and how many you have and will lose! GET THIS THING DONE!!!

Hockey shouldn't be about money, but if it has to be, then just put up and compromise! It's all about wants -- well what about needs? The world needs the NHL. I was playing an NHL game and started crying because I missed hockey. I wonder if the NHL and NHLPA care about all the fans who sit there crying in the night over something that you are fighting over because you want something.

I was reading the comments people have left. It occured to me that the NHL and NHLPA obviously don't understand the gravity of the situation. Canada without hockey, well isn't Canada at all ~ signed by some guy! Seriously, is there no way that this can be made to work? Get off your behinds and do something-- come to SOME kind of compromise! I'd bet that if you charged $5 more a ticket that fans wouldn't care -- there's more solutions. And NHLPA come on a salary cap is only reasonable! Heck, I wouldn't mind making $35 million a year! One year would be good enough to live off of. I could do with like one-millionth of a year's salary. Obviously you don't want to play hockey if you can't understand. There needs to be a permanent solution. When I'm older it would be nice to spend the money I make on a seasons' ticket, but when I'm older will there even be hockey???
