Revolution connected to gamers because they would know what the system will do. But nobody can connect with Wii. Nobody has any idea what something like "Wii" will do to the way games are played.
This feels as if it's only a marketing device that shouldn't have happened. The word Revolution sold itself and Wii needs to be explained. Revolution had some power to it! Unlike Wii.
Why (Wii?) change the name? It's awesome!

As a Nintendo fan, I am used to being treated like a baby by all my peers who have every other system that makes "adult" games. Now they can hear about me playing with my Wii-Wee! Please, Nintendo... "Revolution" said what this system was supposed to be all about... about us taking over the gaming world once again!!! You need to fire the team that came up with that name, and at least call it "Revolution" here in the states, and keep the "Wii" for other countries. Show your loyalty to all us fans who stuck with you when everyone else left for better graphics and popular licenses.
I support this petition. I am concerned that this decision was not made with the English-speaking audience in mind. It also conjures WWII, which a Japanese company hoping for a worldwide product should avoid at all costs. Revolution was simply a better name.

Come on Nintendo, I for one expect better form you. You're the company that got millions upon millions of people into playing videogames with the original Nintendo Entertainment System, and now you give us some crock called a "Wii"?! I mean, sure the name "Super Nintendo" wasn't the most creative thing in the world, but it had a RING to it. It caught you. Even the "N64" caught a person with a name liek that. The "Wii" though just gives off the impression that you've given up and let Sony and Microsoft have the console market.
