Wii hate the name "Wii". Sony and Microsoft will sing "Wii will, Wii will ROCK YOU!" If you don't change the name, I will NOT buy it! I've been looking forward to playing the Nintendo REVOLUTION! Not crying Wii Wii Wii all the way home. Doesn't anybody at Nintendo have a foggy idea of what "Wii" sounds like in English? Oh my gosh! That is SO STUPID! Also, how many times have people initially hated the direction The Big N was taking. Everyone hated a cell shaded Link, but then what happened? Wind Waker turned out to be one of the best games for Gamecube. Everyone freaked out when Microsoft bought Rare, but then what happened? Every game Rare has made since then has been crap, smart move by Ninty.
The fact of the matter is that it is all about the games, which is exactly what Nintendo has been saying all along. I am extremely confident that after we see all the gamplay footage from E3 in a couple weeks the Wii name will not matter a bit, and a petition like this will be realized as useless at it truly is right now.
Nintendo, I own stock in your company, and have been an advocate for your games for two decades. This name is the one of the worst ideas I've seen you do. Change the name back to "Revolution". "Wii" is the stupidest name ever.

I can't see this being a commercial success now. At all. Most people who would potentially have bought this are impressionable teenagers who won't buy anything unless they think it'll make them seem cool. This name change just completely cut off any chance of reaching out to a new fanbase.
