Im still gonna by my wii and play with my wii , my wii is going to give me alot of joy, i'll fantasize about myself and others playing with my wii , my wii will never go untouched, but really wii is a stupid name bring back revolution.
I WAS going to get a DS Lite and a Revolution. Now I will get neither. In fact, I will get a PSP and a PS3 instead, so I'm not just abandoning one brand, but they have lead me to suport their competition as well.
This is the first time ever that I will NOT buy something because of the inconceivable name.

I being Scottish, see the word Wii(wee pronounced) as being another word for small /insignificant. A Nintendo fan my whole life, I feel dissapointed that the fate of this console will come down to a poorly chosen word. Hang your heads in shame.

they are many good way of using alphabets like: getterEX, GP, racingGT, moonFX, windowXP, SE, adobeCS, RT, VR, VC, RS........

Why would you base the name on an english word, and then alter the spelling of the word so that you have to explicitly state how it's pronounced? The spelling is confusing in english, and the word is meaningless, or worse, has a completely different meaning, in every other language.
I think that Wii is a fine name. I'm 20 years old, and the last thing I care about is being ridiculed by my friends. Didn't we all grow out of that during puberty?

Wii is probably the worst name any one has ever thought of since the old Calicovision days. Change it back to revelution, please or you are going to die in the console race, Nintendo. Most un-catchy, ill concieved idea since the virtual boy. Even just Y or Wi would have been better than Wii. Some people mau even mistake the simple to be about world war two (stupid people, but you get the gist)

I know that nintendo´s intention was the better possible, but C´MON MAN, when i read they were going to change the rev name, i thought it would be something.... strange, but Wii !!!! REVOLUTION is the name everyone will always call it, even if you keep this WEE name !!!

I don't think anybody ever confused the name; Gamecube, Playstation, or Xbox, No matter what language. Wii, looks and sounds child-like. Revolution was profound, and IS the name I will always call it. Change it back.
My only hope is that they were planning to name it the revolution this whole time, but they wanted it to still be a big anouncement at E3 so they came up with the worst name they could think of. Now everyone will be so happy when they announce the real name. Brilliant!

Please Nintendo! You were doing everything up right until this. Yes the system will still be great, but unfortunately image is everything in this industry. Wii is so horrible people will actually not buy it because of the name alone. I feel sick even saying the name. Nintendo fans are let down the most. We have been waiting months for a gaming revolution and what do we get? Wii, it makes us look like fools. I hate to put such importance on a name, but no one can deny that the name is important.
I will still be buying the console. I still want the awesome new ideas it will bring. But I plead to you Nintendo, change the name.
The Wii has already generated an incredible amount of ridicule-- not just from Nintendo's critics, but from their fans as well. This is a sign to me that Nintendo has made the wrong decision and that their best course of action would be to go back to using Revolution as the name of their console. It seems I'm not the only one who thinks so, too. Hopefully Nintendo listens and avoids further ridicule.
