All across Canada, there have been laws passed to punish "aggressive" panhandlers, and the homeless in general. A Canadian down on his luck can get fined if someone complains about him or her asking for spare change; then, when he can't pay, he goes to jail. This is because people don't like to be bothered on the street. The panhandlers are called dirty, lazy, drug-addicted bums.

But apparently, there is nothing stopping foreigners from panhandling on the television. Every day, and especially on weekends, one sees nothing but people from Third World countries and their beggar masters asking Canadians for "just a dollar a day" to support people who are dirty and backwards, in countries that manufacture the worst drugs in the world, and are so ignorant they even refuse to believe AIDS exists and so won't take precautions against spreading it - even though they're all infected with it. Worse, it seems it's OK to forwn on a Canadian man for being inadequate in some way, but oh, don't ever suggest that people in the Third World have backwards ways.

The sad thing is, the same idiots who spit on the Canadian in the street will send these people money. And how do they repay us? Are Africans appreciative of this? Well, ask the African who came off a ship in Newfoundland, and proceeded to infect 42 people with AIDS, the youngest one was a 12 year old that he raped. Another one raped a 17 year old virigin who was working at a convenience store, and also gave here AIDS. The same happened in Winnipeg, and probably happened a thousand thousand times over all across the country.

And it isn't just Africans - the CBC interviewed Asians as well, during the International AIDS Conference. They were equally flippant about the spreading of AIDS. They simply don't care, no matter how much help is sent them.

People worry that if they give a dollar to a homeless man, he might buy drugs or alcohol with it. But they never seem to worry about where the money from foreign aid agencies goes!

Also, I have seen Canadians that looked much less well-fed and well-clothed as the average Third-World person they tend to show on the news (as opposed to the people shown in the aid agency ads.) Of course, when a Canadian man goes into an aid agency here (say, the Salvation Army), he is aksed for all his personal information, just for a hamper with $5 worth of food that's supposed to last a month. I saw people standing in line to get handed MONEY after that Asian tsunami, and I didn't see any papers procured at all. I doubt anyone who receives aid in third world countries has to prove who he is. How many of these recipients use their aid to get guns or ship drugs here?

And before you all start crying "racism", here's another point you should consider. A great many people in Canada have to pay a cable or satellite company to even get the CBC (where I live, there is no TV or radio available by airwaves, and this town couldn't be called remote by any standard.) This means that Canadians pay to get panhandled at by Third World people. Who wants to pay to see foreigners begging? I can go to Calgary to see people begging, but at least these are our OWN people, and I would definitely be more inclined to give to the man on the corner - I'd sooner see someone happy with his bottle, than see Third Worlders waving the AK-47s they got because of help from NGOs.

This isn't a racist issue, it's a nationalist issue. I also see the spectre of reverse racism here - it seems that if someone is white, or red, and was born in Canada, they don't deserve help. One only deserves help, apparently, if they're black or yellow and live on the other side of the world. GET OFF IT PEOPLE! Don't give to these people who beg on the television! If you want to give away a dollar a day, give it to your own countrymen! Find a family that needs help on your own street! "Adopt" someone who's down on their luck and only needs a bit of a hand to ghet his life back on track! Help a prostitute get an education, and off of foreign drugs! Give a job to someone on welfare with a spotty work record! Volunteer on a Native reserve, to help troubled Native kids do well! Donate money to your local hospital for adequate equipment - our own hospitals seem to be struggling. Donate to the city of Halifax, so they can build a sewage treatment system! Oh, you didn't realize that Canadian infrastructure is worse than that in the Third World? Of course! That's where all the government's money is going! If you don't believe it, take a drive down any secondary highway in Saskatchewan - particularly Hwy 32 from Leader to Swift Current. Saskatchewan. DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR OWN PEOPLE!

As for you, Bono, of U2, shut your mouth until you go back to Ireland, and pay your Irish taxes to help your own Irish people, you ****ing hypocrite. Just because a person is white doesn't mean he's unworthy of help!
