Dear Judge Mitchell,

We hope you will fully read and take into consideration the following sincere plea.

There is a lesson that Michelle Rodriguez could learn in 180 days. We do believe that the imprisonment of this women is a demonstration of justice and a fair punishment for her crimes. She is a good actress not a good person. You were not allowed the opportunity to see Mayte Michelle Rodriguez the human, only the name on a legal document and if anything the "celebrity" name. To us, she is not a celebrity. She is a convicted repeat drunk driver who is a threat to society. We do not just support her for her few films or her professional career or even as a human. She has flaws, has demonstrated so much irresonsiblity and irreverance to the law .

The Michelle Rodriguez we know dropped out of high school and later got a GED. The Michelle we know will harm even people close to her; like in 2002 when she got arrested for assaulting her roomate. We also know her as a habitual drinker. She has on many occasions driven while intoxicated. She has two serious DUI charges and a hit and run charge dating back to 2003. Then she lied to the courts after saying she completed a rehabilitation program and community service.

Self taught, she's educated herself in history, art, science, metaphysics, psychology, world cultures, and the likes. She however needs to be taught by someone other than herself as her "sefl-teaching" methods have failed her to be a productive member of the community. The Michelle of today is the same Michelle of 2 years ago who committed that second DUI, and the same Michelle of a year ago. She will continue to be the same Michelle in the future if the court changes her sentence of 180 days in jail. She is not perfect, and even she will admit she's made many mistakes, but she's ever evolving, as we all are and hopefully this will help her.

Michelle has young fans who were rape victims, domestic abuse victims, of low-income upbringings and so on and they hold her as an inspiration that someone can come from a troubled background and overcome obstacles and find success b/c she herself did the same, growing everywhere from Texas to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, losing her father young, and spending her teen years contributing to the ghettoness of Jersey. Michelle should appreciate the responsibility she has and the opportunity for communication she has in her position, especially due to her highly publicized mistakes. She does not. She is not aware of the influence she has. We are asking, nay begging you to not have mercy on Ms. Rodriguez and do not reverse or lessen your decision for her to serve time behind bars. She is a bad seed and has nothing to offer the world right now. Please. Please think and do not lessen this sentence. Thank you very much for your time. And as Bob Marley would say: One Love.
