We, the undersigned students of Rooks Heath College for Business and Enterprise, are requesting the cancelation of the new regulations regarding school uniform, that were described in a "Behaviour For Learning Policy" letter from the 2nd June 2009.

The regulations in question are:
• The ban of inappropriately (i.e. brightly) coloured accessories, head scarves and jewellery.
• The ban of nail varnish.
• A full day of seclusion for having a banned item impractical for confiscating.

We believe that the new regulations are too harsh and difficult to follow and that they should either be softened or cancelled.
Suggestions for the possible rule changes:
• Allow brightly coloured jewellery, accessories and head scarves.
• Allow the nail varnish.
The sanctions for those offending the rules should be as follows:
First Offence: a verbal warning
Second Offence: a 15-minute lunch-time detention.
Third Offence: half an hour after school detention.
Sanctions for further offences should be as follows: a phone call home, a school detention, a pink form, a day of seclusion.

We also require for future new regulations to be brought up on the school council meeting first and only enforced afterwards.
