Not One More Child

The Surviving Parent’s Coalition endorses the Not One More Child Safety Education Initiative, which combines the radKIDS Personal Empowerment Safety Education Program and The Joyful Child’s Adult Education for Child Protection Crimes, as the best model for engaging communities in the national movement to stop predatory crimes against children.
We continually watch in horror as our nations children are abused, sexually assaulted, abducted and brutally harmed. Increasingly citizens, educators and law enforcement professionals realize that no one agency, no one group can independently eliminate crimes against children. It takes a caring, informed and educated community to ensure that NOT ONE MORE CHILD is victimized.
• Every year in America, an estimated 800,000 children are reported missing, more than 2,200 children each day.
• 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys are sexually abuse before the age of 18.
• There is one convicted and registered sex offender for each square mile in our nation.
• Children are the largest group of victims of all violent crime.
• More than 60% of the children surveyed (17 years of age or younger) were exposed to violence in the last year.
• Over 50% of children were assaulted.
• Children who experience child abuse and neglect are 59% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 30% more likely to commit violent crime, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult.
• A child who is victimized by violence is 8 times more likely to end up incarcerated than a child who has not.
Not One More Child is a revolutionary partnership whose synergy results in community partnerships arming parents, neighbors, mentors, educators, criminal justice professionals and children with effective training to prevent predatory and violent crimes against children. In order to effectively defend against child predators, it is essential to empower the child with personal skills while educating parents on what they can do to better protect their children. Only then do you have a complete arsenal in the war against predatory crimes against children.
