Microsoft Corporation hosts a number of public servers to host online sessions for customers playing their "Halo: Combat Evolved" PC game for Windows. The game has a huge fan following, but an exploitation of the "friendly fire" feature in the game has given rise to a group of people who join the game simply to kill their teammates and ruin the game for everyone. The servers impose a 4-kill limit; if a player kills 4 teammates in succession, they are automatically banned from that server. However, this count can be circumvented if the player disconnects and then rejoins the game before the limit is reached. In this manner a malicious player can exploit "friendly fire" for hours on end and ensure that legitimate players are unable to play. This is a paid and "supported" product from Microsoft, and this exploit should be dealt with by disabling friendly fire on the game servers.
