NU-OU was my first Husker game on my own as a kid. It's a great Thanksgiving tradition and makes far more sense from a team, player, media and national standpoint than this Colorado so-called "rivalry." Let's play some real football.
We need to bring this back, if for not any other reason, than to shut these CU fans up who think our annual game is a "rivalry". What a joke. I hate the Big XII. We should petition to have the Big 8 returned to us.
People flew in from all over for the NU-OU games. Mutual respect of teams. Great rivalry, like no other. Thanksgiving went hand-in-hand with NU-OU football.
This is the way it should be. Nebraska/OU should always be played the day after Thanksgiving. That's what makes it a rivalry. Colorado only wishes. They will never be a rivalry game. Never.
Bring the annual game back. OU comes to Lincoln ONCE every four years, that's only TWICE in 8 years and 3 times in 12 years. WE want OU!!
Simms, Lott, Peacock, the Selmons, JC Watts, Overstreet, Petersen, Calmus, you name them!!!
I grew up watcing the game and really miss the game. I remember a cold rainy day around 92 or 93 and seeing TO walk out of the south end of the stadium after the NU-OU game with a big smile on his face after a NU win. Seeing the satisfaction on his face was something to see.
