One of the greatest rivalries in all of college sports ended with the formation of the Big 12 in 1996, but the Nebraska and Oklahoma series should have never ended this way. The two team must play every year! Nobody would dare take away the Michigan-Ohio State game from us every year. Why take away NU-OU?
You simply cannot talk rivalry without mentioning NU-OU. This would I believe help in strength in schedule, more national coverage, and raise fan base to both sides. PLUS even if you aren't a fan of either team, doesn't everyone enjoy a good ol' fashioned hated rivalry shoot-out!?
Nebraska-Oklahoma is one of the best rivalries in all of college football and has produced some of the greatest games and matchups in NCAA history. Not having the annual matchup around Thanksgiving time is a crime to college football and its fans.
Bring back the classic tradition. A lot of people are wanting this. It has never been the same. NU also needs to begin to play higher ranked opponents if it wants to be a better, more competitive team. Helps in the BCS rankings too.
I'm so glad we're playing OU in the Big 12 championship. The days when OU vs. NU decided the conference title made for great games. But even if NU wasn't in the running, beating OU made the season a success. BRING THIS GAME BACK!
What a start to get this going. This makes three years in a row of us playing each other. Lets keep the tradition going. In the mean time of the big 12 now listening, I guess we both have to keep winning our divisions to keep playing.
So many NU and OU fans wish we still played every year. What a great tradition for college football that should be renewed! No game would be bigger in November. BIG 12 officials need to get their heads out of the butts and make this happen!
Colorado was fun in the 90's but poor class in its program and fans is a major turnoff for me.. I still went to the game, but imagine if it was oklahoma on friday... oh goodness
