The goal of this petition is to encourage a government investigation of the oil industries in the United States. It is obvious that the price of fuel has been and is continuing to be a big problem for us, the citizens; but a great opportunity for the oil industries which have been said to have made into the billions of dollars in gross profit (so I'm sure they haven't been doing too bad in net profit either!) over the past few years.

The price of gas keeps rising and, most times, an excuse is given that is so unbelievable...it is almost humorous that the United States fuel industries actually think we are all dumb enough to believe these excuses.

The news has broadcast stories mentioning that the government may conduct an investigation of the fuel industries (not knowing where this information was cited from it is probably untrue). I think there NEEDS to be an investigation done of the fuel industry...how much profit they are netting each year, why the cost is so high per gallon, and to attempt to place pricing restrictions on fuel.

Please, sign this petition to show your support of an investigation of the fuel industry. Most likely nothing will come of it, but if nothing else it is an opportunity to vent frustration!
