Hardly offensive.

Yet, at Rangiora High School, one student is being asked to change his hairstyle, simply because the Principal, Mrs. Peggy Burrows, doesn't like it.

Should we not be encouraging creativity, and individual expression, rather than stifling it?

The idea of a student being asked to leave school if he doesn't wish to have his hair cut is unacceptable. For someone to miss out on getting an education, simply because they didn’t wish to have hair the same as everybody elses?

To even consider denying a young man of his education simply because of a change in hair style shows a bizarre obsession with uniform standards over educational benefit.

Oliver has always been an excellent student, and that hasn't changed just because his hair is different.

For him to have to leave school simply because of a new hairstyle would be an injustice, and for that reason, I urge that Rangiora High School allow him to have his hair styled in whatever way he so chooses - it's not harming anyone.
