Whereas: The MSU Bulldog football program is experiencing the frustration and difficulty of change and there are those who adapt to change easier than others.



Whereas: It takes strong leadership to make significant changes in life. There is always a shortage of leadership in comparison of the abundance of followers who take the easy way out, the followers who are critical, the followers who stand back and challenge the leadership to “show me” before they lend their support.



Whereas: Coaches and administrators have the charge of motivating, teaching, challenging and moving players to a new level of thinking, acting, and living. There will be success and disappointment during the transition, yet we will support Coach Croom by keeping our eye on the goals.



Whereas: Alumni, fans, and supporters of the MSU football program are a critical part of the revolution that is facing our football program This group of people can be agents of good or agents of gloom and doom. Each of us giving our support as we are able, regardless of our difference contributions, they all matter.



Therefore, be it resolved: that those of us who attest to this petition, do solemnly promise to be supportive of Coach Croom, his staff, and those players who are making the sacrifice of time, energy, and effort to become a team that represents excellence on and off the field. A team that will represent itself well and be a source of pride for MSU. The only color that matters is Maroon worn with pride and positive expectation by all of us who have signed this petition. You can count us as a true and loyal supporter of the MSU Football team, the team of the “People’s University” for Mississippi.
