because operating system support is a basic requirement of any fully fledged OS. If a MAC os has OpenGL, Linux has OpenGL, Unix has Opengl, and Windows 98 has Opengl, then why on gods earth would you remove support for a fully function cross platform specification? Particularly when it is supported by every pice of hardware on the market, and is an industry specified tool.
