As has been pointed out, we don't need another Wal-Mart in this area. Christiansburg is close enough. Also, the place where they want to put it is pretty cramped to be putting a super-center there. Also, I wouldn't want a Wal-Mart right behind an elementary school, for the sake of the safety of the children. I think the current buffer area between Beeks Elementary and Gable Shopping Center is a necessity for safety of the children and of the many vendors who deliver goods to the shopping center. In addition to that, the traffic would also become horrible, as is the case at most Wal-Marts, which would result in putting yet another traffic signal on Country Club Drive, which would bottle-neck traffic even more. Blacksburg neither needs, nor wants, this.
