Parking has been an inconvenience for visitors due to the small amount of parking spots. As a result, non-residents are almost forced to park illegally or in an area outside of the complex, which can be dangerous. There is an understanding that before parking permits were issued, there were conflicts with accidents, damage to cars, and stolen items from vehicles. However, if non-residents have to park on the other side of the complex rather than in the parking lot of whomever they are visiting, then they are increasing their chances of being a victim of car theft. Furthermore, the majority of people who have suffered from receiving a boot on their car or have had their car towed most likely do not have the money to pay the necessary fees. Students would rather not deal with visitors parking permits at ALL! The permits have their benefits for the members of the community, but overall, IT IS JUST NOT WORTH THE HASSLE! The undersigned here support this policy change and demand that the appropriate steps are taken to remedy this problem.
