Visit some lesser known puppy mills and see if you still feel the same about this bill. I have and I found dogs in chicken coops stomping on wire cages with 2 feet of waste directly under them. The coops were 1000 feet from any humans and the cheepest feed was being used. The mortality rate was appaling. Open your eyes to reality.
Is this a democracy or a communist government? How long will the people of USA stand for pencil pushers writing and enacting laws on subjects they have no clue about? Please, do not pass this bill and take away the few acts of freedom we have left...to love our pets as family members!
Responsiblet Hobby breeders put most of there funds back into there puppies and dog care. If this bill passes it will put the majority out of business. Then the only breeders that will be able to afford to stay in business will be the large massive breeders,or the ones that will figure out a way to avoid the law. More puppies will be sold underground and also from overseas. Lets don't make out precious little guys suffer for the studpidity of PAWS. Please let AKC continue to monitor breeders as they have in the past, allow responsible breeders to continue their good work of providing healthy, socialized pets, and put this government money to another good use.
This bill will put hobby breeders/ show breeders out of business. AKC will lose in the long run because fewer breeders will register their litters. Why would someone register a single puppy litter with an undestended testicle, for instance, that is neutered and placed in a pet home? Why waste their numbers on such a litter. Legislation such as this bills suggests will be devastating to both the dog fancy and cat fancy alike.
I was under the impression that AKC stood for integrity in the breeding prog. Obviously the agenda has changed. Breeders awa pet owners will be penalized. Not one time does this bill mention socialization and the care taken to raise a well adjusted pup.

The trouble with legislation like this is that it opens the door to tightening the rules until they affect everyone, not just the supposed "big, problem breeders".
Responsible breeders already sign codes of ethics and belong to national or international breed associations. This legislation hurts responsible breeders.
Irresponsible breeders will continue to evade the law regardless and they're harder targets.
This bill will not only the breeders but it will also hurt the rest of the peopllr from having pets . And why does the Gov. have to get involved to this extent anyway? This bill is just more CONTROLE over people.
This is the 1st step in governing household pets. It's all abuot the feds getting their 2 cents. AKC has in the past stood against such bills, what's the benefit to them??? There must be one. I've never owned or bred anything but AKC but that will change. I refuse to support this intrusion by the goverment and enforced through AKC.
please do not support a bill that could hurt many hobby breeders that work hard to properly care for their animals. Instead, look into all the puppy mills breeding for money and not the love of the animal.
This bill is too vaguely written to be of benefit in promoting responsible pet ownership. It imposes impossible restrictions on hobby-breeders who are the source of good, quality puppies. Without quality puppies to purchase, buyers will be forced to purchase puppy mill puppies, the very source that this bill is trying to control.
Please see all of the animal mills from dogs to guinea pigs. They all get abused, neglet, and not enough attention. I have taken in many that were from mills and did not survive long enough to see life. Good breeders are responsible, bad breeders like puppy mills and more are not good. Ban all puppy mills and other animal mills please.
With so many people out there getting away with SERIOUS lawbreaking, and then try to pass a law prohibiting people from caring and loving for pets. That is like telling a person how many children they are allowed to have.
how dare one groups try to restrict law abifding citizens the right to breed or own animals , clean up your own house before cleaning ours.Please shut down the improper places before turning on honest people.
I am a small hobby breeder and love my dogs like my children. This is a violation of my rights along with everyone like myself. DO NOT PASS THIS BILL!!
