This bill is ridiculous. People who harm animals and kill the innocent should be hung. And they feel GOOD about themselves?? SHAME on you!! It's the puppy mills and innocent so called "catteries" where I've seen cats in 2x2 cages producing untypey crap, that need to be looked into and enforce spay/neutering! This bill does NOTHING and certainly doesn't help the animals. VOTE NO.

That is a lower gross then allowed on the property line. There wanting certin heat and air ect. Lots of people don't have that nor homes ,nor good food, as the goverment takes away our jobs,add more taxes, take away freedon, You have to wear a seat,belt,no talking on cell phones while driveing, no drinking coffee or eating while driveing.And so many more.

I am one such person who does breed dogs for a hobby. My dogs sleep in the bed with me. My puppies are born in my bathroom and stay there until they are up running around. I then move them to the kitchen where all the dogs, kids, grandkids, and visitors can play with them. Socialization is imperative to having a loving, happy pup. My daughter has even been known to sneak a pup to her bed on occasion for naps. Please shut down the puppy mills, not responsible, loving hobby breeders.
This bill will stop breeding for most hobby breeders. Only the puppy/kitten mills will be left. I don't see how that will help animals or pet owners in any way. Hobby breeders care more for their animals and treat them like family.
Animal shelters are full of common cats and dogs, NOT purebred or pedigreed animals. Pet overpopulation is the result of irresponsible ownership and lack of responsibility. Invading privacy does NOT address the true problem.

I am a recent recepient of a loving, healthy kitten that has quickly become a special member of our family. The breeder gave special care to the socialization of the animal. A recent national television program highlighted what Texas has been doing; confiscation of the breeder's animals based on trumped up allegations of cruelty & filth, then selling the animals for their own profit. There are laws to deal with the cruelty that might exist. Please do not infringe on the right of citizens to make up their own mind in selecting a pet.
Responsible breeders care for the welfare of their animals as if they were part of their family. Irresponsible brreders suck the life out of their animals as if they were a throw away commodity and once their value has gone down, they are thrown away.

Hobby breeders of cats, raise them in their homes to insure socialization. We beleive the PAWS 2005 proposed ledgislationSB1139/HB2669 will infringe on our rights as private citizen to own or sell cats, hindering responsible hobby breeders and show cats owners to continue Please stop this bill.
Please reconsider this bill.. I have a puppy that I got from a home breeder over a puppy mill BECAUSE of the way they are tested and raised underfoot. I trust homebreeding over puppy mills. I feel this bill should not be passed.
Enforce the laws that are already on the books and stop writing laws that crush responsible hobby breeders who love their respective breeds and raise well socialized pets.
I think it is really stupid to tell people how many animals they can own. Breeders, usually take good care of their pets! why should they be punished? I think the bill shouldnt be passed! What would happen to the breeds of animals? We need to preserve them! That is partially what a breeder does!

I only have about 4 litters a year of kittens--truly a hobby breeder. My home is where they are raised. I think having my home inspected is a bit much since I do keep my home clean.
The changes to this bill are ridiculous. Gun Control for Pet Owners? Keep a detailed list of all your sales for the government's review. For one, how can they place a limit on the sale of your dog or cat to $500, which then puts you in the dealer category and thereby subject to the bill if you sell one puppy in most cases.This bill should not be passed.

PAWS requires goverment inspection of the residences of hobby breeders, who are already regulated by local authorities. By expanding USDA inspections into hobby breeders' homes, it will stretch USDA resources and diminish their ability to concentrate on large-scale commercial and interstate animal raising and transportation.
AKC does NOT speak for me, nor for the cat breeders and owners whose cats nature dictates more frequent breeding to prevent life threatening uterine infections. Where will the pet-loving population go to find home raised, healthy, happy animals with known good temperament and healthy, if not to the small home based retail breeders who raise these pets for the LOVE of their breed?
Over regulation is the first step towards eliminating all breeds, which is a stated goal of the AR terrorists.

I oppose the Paws legislation because it does NOT seek to regualter wholesale breeder, but targets home-based hobby breeders who strictly sell at retail to direct pet-buying families who want the assurance that the animal they buy is healthy, home-raised, and of good temperament to be a great family pet. This bill also invades our 4th admendment privacy rights merely becaue we choose to have a few litters in our living room. This bill would remove the right of all sportsmen to breed ANY dogs for hunting purposes or show purposes! Those who oppose gun regulation should also oppose regulating our hunting dogs out of existance, which is only One of the bad things this bill does! Also, cats do not breed as do small dogs, therefore AKC does NOT speak for the reproductive imperitives of the normal feline, which must be bred more often to prevent the life-threatening results of Pyometria and uterine infections! STOP PETA, HSUS, AKC and those who would remove our rights!

Instead of targetting rsponsible pet owners and breeders, go after the cock fighting, the dog fighting and other such abuses. Responsible owners and breeders don't use their animals in such ways and care for their animals. In most cases, the animals are family members. Are you going to have us destroy our children for their mistakes next?
Raising safe, healthy, well-socialized pets is best done in the home environment. PAWS will move those animals from home to metal and concrete facilities without proper human contact. Who benefits? Certainly not the animals. Do not pass this bill that is bad for the animals and restricts the rights of responsible hobby breeders to improve their breeds.
Small hobby breeders of cats/dogs who pursue their hobby out of genuine love of these animals will be impacted the most by this poorly thought out bill while virtually giving a pass to the "puppy/kitten mill"industry who breed solely for the money.Senator Santorum,this is a BAD Bill!!!
