I think we need to keep the laws the same and not change anything.Our pets have the right just like we do and if you change them dose that mean ya'll will change laws for us.NOT
Supporters of this bill are either ill intentioned or ill informed. Hobby and show breeders are much more cognizant of the health and well being of individual animals than any government inspector.
Puppy Mills MUST be stopped - this is abusive, cruel and totally inexcusable with today's resources and level of awareness. This Bill will not do what it is intended, it will ony harm responsible hobby breeders. PLEASE pass a bill to save the neglected puupies in the mills - not the dedicated families who hand raise each of their puppies with loving care.
This law is absolutly ridiculous. DO NOT PASS..... We are the voters and for AKC backing this we are their source of income I say we all switch from AKC to another source and make them our NEW AKC..... We can all fo this if we ban together and run tem out of business and put our law makers in place if we stick together!!!!!
The worst thing you can do to perpetuate puppy mills and kitty mills is to put small, conscientious breeders like myself out of business. Nothing would make the greedy kitten and puppy mill owners happier.
It is time we enforce what laws we already have. The bill will only hurt the innocent one more time. I ask you to consider all those who will be affected by this. Please do not support this bill.
VOTE NO! I have been a hobby breeder for 24 years, but my dogs are part of our family.Their welfare is more important to me than how much money there is to be made or many I can produce for personal gain.
My dogs have just as much rights to be a part of my family, to have their babies in the comforts of my home as I have to have a canine companion/s. USDA and our goverment needs to step out and stop puppy mills where only the dollar value is important.
Also, this bill will not stop the abuses of puppy mills but instead will give them greater economic incentive by severly restricting the law-abiding, responsible breeder's ability to supply good quality, well solicialized, healthy puppies to the public.
I ask of you not only for myself, but for my family (and other family's)& the animals that we love so very much. If you do pass this bill, you will be taking away the right's of children and wonderful family's a way to get their best friend. The prices will blow up so high that only the very well off may enjoy a pet. Do not pass this Bill as it is taking away another of our constitutional rights of Freedom & Happiness, not just for me but for so so many other's!!
We who love and have love to give beg you not to pass this unfair bill.

Please reconsider this Act. PAWS diverts the focus of the AWA from its intended target of large-scale commercial (strictly for profit) breeders
who sorely need intense policing. PAWS Mandates government inspection of the residences of hobby breeders (nearly all of whom make no profit whatsover). This group is already regulated by local authorities.PAWS will dilute available USA resources, thus ensuring that "puppy mills' will again operate largely uninspected and essentially unregulated, since there will be no funds remaining to ensure USDA inspections or regulation enforcement action.
PLEASE PASS THIS LAW!!!...as soon as it can be made sensible and after the social security fiasco is corrected, after the war on terrorism is won, after our homeland is safe, after our economy is thriving, after crime is under control, after the criminal justice system is reformed, after the evironment is balanced with our needs, after the welfare system is made FAIR, after criminals are given meaningful punishment, after we have restored faith in the congress, local and state governments, after the UN is desolved and we are protected against one world government, and after everyone in our country has a full tummy...then do it...unless you agree that goverment's best work is usually staying out of our business.
Wake up to the real problems with puppy mills. Leave the responible breeders alone. We e love all of our animals. I pretty much have a zoo at my home, I will be Damned if Government is going to tell me how to deal with my animals.I have Pure Beeds & Mixed.
Please remove this bill from consideration. There are currently enough bills dealing with pets, pet breeding and pet protection. Enforce those bills don't create new ones.
There are already excellent laws in the US code which only need to be enforced. I wish to continue to raise rabbits for show and meat without fear from the ARA's who would prefer that I didn't. I obey the USDA codes because I used to sell over 200 rabbits a year for meat. I also am part of the wool industry with my 30 Angora rabbits which supply over 30 lbs of wool per year.
As usual, we the responsible breeders are being targeted. I am a nurse and I guarantee that everyone of my rabbits is taken better care of than 3/4 of the children I care for. The rabbit industry urges responsible breeding and education for owners. I am not a pet owner, I am a producer of high quality show animals and meat animals. This unfair act is just another waste of my tax dollars. The USDA needs to be worried about the food supply and let the local animal control officers perform their duty.
Please do not pass this bill. Enforce the laws that are currently on the books. Do away with Puppy and Kitten Mills. Don't hurt the responsible and caring breeders.

i think this bill is a huge infrengment on my right...this is awful, have you nothing better to do? are we citizens really paying you to do this...my goodness, i think i want my dollar back on this one...what i do in my home is private..you are not hurting the puppy mills and puppy brokers, you are hurting us responsible breeders, and enabling the mills to explode in business...all of my dogs will be changing from akc to ckc tomorrow, i will not support any organization like this...who do you all think you are? GODS of the animal world???? ...this is ridiculous..please do not pass this bill
