I am opposed to PAWS it will restrict properly raised puppy in loving homes and greatly put at risk our caninie population while making puppy mills the norm.
I can not believe this and it disturbs me as well greatly. WHy is it that the legislative doesn't have anything better to do than to pick on the little people. What about the poor people that have no homes in this country and the starving, the people that are going without medications that they need because of the monopoly between the drug companies and government. I am one that can't get my medications because I can't afford it. I have my dogs they are my therapy as well as I include them as my family, I would be totally lost without them. I want to only breed them for the better ment of the breed not a puppy mill nor abuse them they are human to me they have feelings and needs too. Does the legislature get up with them at night when they are sick and take them to the vet when needed? Do they want the responsibility of the dogs needs and cares I think this thing should be directed to the puppy mills that sell dogs and abuse them for the good old dollar they can squeeze out of people to me the legislature and puppy mills have alot in common they do not have honest caring dog breeders in consideration it is all about the oh mightly dollar they can squeeze out of our family members our pets. Well they have feelings as well. I thought this was a "Free Country" what is happening here all I have to say is I didn't vote for him!

It disturbs me greatly that our legistlative body finds it acceptable to slowly...no, actually, very quickly errode the rights and priveledges of United States citizens because a few radicals think it is the right thing to do. Our country was founded to protect the rights and priveledges of the citizenry. Our troops have gone and continue to go to war to protect the rights of people around the world, yet, here in our own country, you our governing body continue to take, take, take them away. This bill is an example of the arrogance of the legistlative body who thinks they can a)govern morality and ethics by oversite and b)grossly and willingly misunderstand a given situation based on the inflammatory rhetoric of known radicals and terrorists. Do you not think for yoursleves? Where do you think the funding is going to come from to manage this beaurocratic nightmare should you be shortsighted enough to pass this bill?

This bill will only help puppy mills. The small breedrer that raise their puppies in their home will not continue to bred. If you want to buy your next puppy from a pet store, and only be able to get the animals from a pet store, this is the bill for you. I have to agree with some of the other comments I have read, the government gets enough of our money, if you think about it, we already pay over 90% of our income in taxes, by the time you pay sales tax, personal property taxes, we even get taxed to die! As for AKC support of this bill, what a reversal of their mission statement. At the airport the other day, a lady told me she tried to advertise her litter of puppies on the AKC breeder page, but they emailed her and told her she could not advertise with them, because she was USDA liscensed, and their organization was strictly for hobby breeders. Now, just 2 months later, they are saying just the opposite. What do you suppoes is behind that? Oh, by the way, AKC kept the lady's 60 dollars it cost to advertise her litter, but removed her listing. As for the crator of this nonsense, you are welcome to come to my house, and see my puppies. How dare you try to say we don't love our puppies, that we don't take care of them, or that they are mis treated. Instead of targeting us, why don't you do something about the people that have 300 dogs, all in 3 by 5 ft cages, dogs that when we, the "Hobby breeders" get from these places, don't even know how to walk on the ground, or are so scared of people that you have to trap them in a corner to touch them. Do something about them, and leave the rest of us alone! We pay our taxes just like everyone else, and really who owns a dog and who doesn't is none of your business. Insted of stopping breeders and the government taking all control of breeding, why not pass a bill to allow pets as a tax deduction. Because that will cost the government money and put money in our pockets. NO, THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO TAKE CONTROL OF IT SO THEY CAN REAP THE REWARDS $$$ OF BREEDING. Do not pass this bill. It does not do what the proponents claim it will. The government needs to take a long hard look at groups like PETA with their tax exempt status and illegal activities, instead of worrying about small breeders.

It is unacceptable to pass a badly composed law that limits RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. This bill will do nothing to protect people from "mill" situations.
This is a nasty law. There is no reason to punish the good breeders out there. I would ONLY buy a puppy from someone bred them in the house with the family. That is the only way they get the care and socialization they need. a dog or cat is a companion, not a business or easy money.
I am 100% opposed to this bill. To take away the freedoms and rights of caring and responsible breeders is ludicrous and unconstitutional. Our Goverment is giving $$$ to the large puppy mills out West..They are getting rich selling puppys to Pet Shops..without any knowledge of pedigrees or health problems...now they are trying to pass this law so more big rich puppymills can flourish while small hobby show breeders go down the tubes..Please say NO..NO..NO ..to this terrible bill..
I feel this bill would help the animal rights group eliminate the rights of people to have animals as pets to care for and love. It would certainly help to eliminate hobby breeders who are doing their best to produce healthy happy animals. We are the ones who make the effort to elimanate diseases, to produce animals with good temperaments. It will not eliminate the puppy mill problem. That can be done by enforcement of the laws already in existance.
This is the worst bill I have seen to date involving animals. This will hurt the sport of Purebreed dogs forever. This bill SHOULD be pointed towards mills, brokers,pet shops,etc. The "reputable" breeders should not be included in this bill as they are maintaining the integrity of their chosen breed.
I am against the PAWS bill, I have raised puppies for years in my home, I do have a small kennel but do not feel I need to be regulated any more than I already am.
As a rescue group we would love to see some control of the puppy mills that are licensed kennels. Hobby breeders do not contribute to pet over population, puppy mills do. This law is stupid!!! Don't pass it!!!
No to PAWS. Animal Rights Activists are overstepping their bounds, encouraging the government to regulate the privacy and individuality of small hobby breeders. I am opposed to micromanagement of our government. Try enforcing laws that are already in place.
I am a lover of exotic birds and have several I've made back into loving pets after being rescued. This law would basically end the ability to rescue unwanted, unloved, uncared for birds. I don't need the government coming into the privacy of my home telling me how to care for my pets. My wonderful avian vet can answer any questions I may have much better than some government official that wouldn't have a clue as to proper care. The government can't take care of the laws they have now - they don't need more senseless laws on the books that they don't have the intelligence to handle. My pets are well cared for and I would hope that if I ever become incapacitated or too old to properly care for my birds, I would be allowed to place them in other loving homes - something this law would take my right away to do. The government can't properly prosecute those abusing animals now - that should be their concern - not those who love and properly care for their pets or have a small breeding hobby whether dogs, cats, birds or whatever. The last thing we need is the loss of our right to have pets. Maybe our government should try reading the rights we are suppose to have! Clean up the white house and the other government branches - leave our private homes and pets alone!

I do not plan to allow any one to enter my home and take my babies. they are my family and friends. I live by myself in a high crime town.they are my watch animals and i have to large rescue dog that help take care of me.i am retired Please do not pass this bill.
PAWS will result in the end of responsible breeding of companion animals. When responsible hobby breeders can't comply with the provisions of this bill the only source for companion animals will be the "new and improved" mills.
Please say NO to the Paws Law. Do not take away our freedom to choose our retirement hobby! We love our dogs. Who is to say that a show dog is more beneficial than a well bred and loved pet!
I oppose this bill, I for one do not want the government to be allowed to come into my home and do inspections. It will take away from our privacy and rights. What about the people who do not register thei dogs, that is a big problem, especially with the Amish breeders.
Please focus on the administration of the laws we do have regarding animal welfare and do not further intrude government in the lives of ordinary citizens.
