I don't believe that withholding breeding rights solve the problem with maintaining breed standards, education is what needs to be dispersed to maintain any breed
This should only be enforced on puppy mill breeders. In my profession I have seen their products and no person should be exposed to the offspring their dogs produce. they are unhealthy and almost always deformed in some way, shape or form. This bill will just ruin small Hobby Breeders that are actually bettering the breed rather than ruing such as puppy mills do. This should only apply to puppy mills. I Vote NO!
Vote NO on PAWS! Don't take away our rights to own, breed, nurture and love the animals. Prosecute the back yard breeders and puppy mills that only care about money, instead of the health and well-being of the animals they create. Please,we BEG of you, vote "NO" on the PAWS bill.
We do not need more government control, This is just the beginning. Most Americans are responsible citzens and want the best for his fellow neighbor. This is more about money and control. Not abou the welfare of the animals.
There are several small breeders who treat thier breeding stock better than many pet owners. These animals are often times kept in the house, under foot, as part of the family. Would you take these animals out of homes and sentence them to a life in a concrete pen? Pets are not the same as Cattle or Sheep. Who would want the USDA to drop in to inspect their home? Americans have lost enough privacy as it is. Enough is enough. Stop this bill, and focus more on helping the USA stay free.
Vote NO to this Bill! The small hobby breeder is being affected and it will take away their rights to breed to the standard for their breed and care for the dogs properly. We are against the Puppy Mills!
Vote "No" on PAWS. I believe that this invades the rights of good small time breeders. I bought my english bulldog from a great small operation and would never want a law to shut her down! She offers top of the line dogs, because she can give each dog the attention they need.
Puppymills are a disgrace. This bill must not be passed. It is not fair to the welfare of the breeds and to the people who breed responsibley and lovingly. This bill will only help the unloving and irresponsible. Bad move for us!!!
WE NEED A BILL TO PUT THE PUPPYMILLS OUR OF BUSINESS NOT THE SMALL PEOPLE BREEDING EXCELLENT QUALITY LOVING PETS AND CARING FOR THEM BETTER THAN ANY BIG TIME BREEDER WITH 100'S OF DOGS
Please do not pass this bill! Hobby breeders who put a lot of care and thought behind each breeding are the ones who are going to suffer, not the puppy millers who only care about money. Hobby breeders care about their breed as a whole and put a lot of money in genetic testing and care of our pets. Please VOTE NO to this bill. All breeds will suffer if this passes as it will stop the concerned hobby breeders from being able to continue to breed. The puppy millers are the ones who will benefit from this bill if it passes. Please don't let this happen. I am very concerned.
Passing this bill is not the answer! But is the answer in stealing our rights away along with future generations. Don't take away the freedom of the innocent people, seek out and punish those that are in the wrong. BAD BILL!
We do not need a bill to go after responsible pet owners and the people who love their animals. Go after the puppy mills and puppy brokers, who are after the dollar and don't care about the animal.
I have crusaded for animal welfare most of my adult life.PAWS is NOT the answer. Please, do not take away our rights! America, Land of the Free, because of the Brave! Please stand with the brave and oppose this bill.
I thought the purpose of this type of bill was to stop the importation of dogs and end puppymills. All this will do is hurt breeders with a conscience who breed for the betterment of the breed. Rick Santorum needs to do his homework before he tries to ram this pathetic bill down everyones throat. This bill is a farce and an insult to reputable breeders. STOP THIS BILL!!!
Please do not pass this bill.We breed our dogs to show and they recieve the best of care.Put a stop to all the puppymillers and importers who are flooding the country with sick, badly bred dogs.
I thought this was a free country! Now you are going to try to tell us what to do with our pets? This is not freedom.I WILL FIGHT THIS BILL,EVEN IF I NEED TO STAND IN CRAWFORD TEXAS TO DO IT!!!!!
Please do not pass this law. We have raised and shown our Standard Poodles for over 25 years and have all the medical testing done on our poodles and only breed to the best we can find. Please help us to fight this bill. Thank you.
I am an elementary educator. Every morning the entire school stands at attention with our hands over our hearts and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. "...with liberty and justice for all." The "freedom" we proudly proclaim is once more in danger of shrinking for the benefit of "BIG BUSINESS." What is next? While the AKC holds high standards for breeding and has contributed to the betterment of our furry friends, we are (yes, we are members) capable of monolpolizing! That has happened to small farmers, Mom and Pop filling stations, and other small business owners. While accountability is important, burdening citizens with restrictions based on the size of their business and their incomes is simply WRONG. You cannot legislate "the hearts" of people. We will be watching this closely and our family and friends do vote!
If this bill is not stopped it will not do anything to help anyone but destroy alot of good peoples hard work, and prevent alot of people from having that kitten or puppy they have always dreamed of having join their families. Breeders have to sale some of there animals in order to afford to maintain the animals they use in thier programs. What most breeders will charge for the adolption of thier puppies and kittens and other animals, is hardly nothing, when considering all the hard work and time and money they invest into them. I have gone to the vets for just a series of test and paid more for that one visit then what I would charge for two of my kittens. Breeding animals takes money there is no way out of it. Puppy mills are people who breed pets to pets with no shots no socialization of thier pups or kittens, they dont care who will buy them just as long as they have money. A breeder cares about the babies they sale, they want to feel sure they are not sending them out for a bad life but to be sending to some one who will appreciate them, and if you give them away its harder to screan people cause people who take good care of thier animals are willing to pay something for that animal. Please dont pass this bill! I think the best way to cut down on the pet population of unwanted pets is to do more to make it easier for people to spay and nueter! Take up donations, and have certain times of the year that so many animals can be spay or neutered for free or a lower price. If some one wants a shelter to take thier animals make them pay for thier upkeep till they are placed, there are better ways to control the pet poplulation with out wrecking havic on inocent breeders who do right by thier pets. If some one is found to be truly running a puppy mill, make them pay for what it cost to get them all taken care of rather then putting them in jail, unless they would rather go to jail? if they pay for their mess its not a burden to anyone else, and keep a eye on those peop
I oppose the paws bill. Once again the small guy gets the shaft! This bill will not affect puppy mills, only the loving homes and people who follow the law!
