Dear Congress
I support the controls needed for the best intrest of the dogs. This is not it. We who take our dogs very sseriously and do everything that we can for there best welfare need little government intervention to continue responsible breeding of our show dogs. What we seek is contol of those people who think dog breeding is a comodity to be thrown away after it is used up. Those are the ones who give dog breeders a bad name.

As previously stated, raising animals is not about the money, but the love of the animals. My pets are like my kids and enjoy every comfort I can provide, but were this bill to pass, I would have to place them all. Reason being, I go to classes and work all day during the week, so no one would be here to supervise a visit. It will be a sad, sad day if PAWS passes.
I support this petition. No more legislation to complicate the lives of responsible hobby breeders and owners. Where is the USDA going to get the multitude of employees and the money to inspect every home where puppies are born? Our of our pockets????

I urge all animal enthusiasts to rise in OPPOSITION to PAWS 2005, SB1139/HB2669 both of which are invasive to family privacy.
We do not want government inserting itself in homes precluding our quiet enjoyment of the love our animal family members give us without reserve.
What the hell happened to the bill of rights! This has to be the worst thought out piece of legislation to hit Washington. As well as a major advancement for PETA and other animal rights groups. How powerful are we, the American people, going to let animal right extremists get? It will be a very sad day in History if this proposal reaches a majority vote.
Please vote NO. Any reputable breeder has a mind to guide themselves, Why would we damage our own investments, not only with money but a lot us us invest LOTS of blood, sweat and tears. Anyone that thinks breeders are getting rich by this have never raise rabbits. Lots of us are probally in the hole.Don't they get it? It is NOT about the money but our love of the animals! I support this petition. i ama small hobby breeder and i love having my chihuahuas live in my home they are like my kids they sleepin my bed and my kids love them too . also if akc supports this bill i donotthink i will supportakc . or show my dogs . which is a dream of mine small hobby breeders have the time to socialize thier pups and make sure they go to great home and alot of us support spay and nueter of pets that are not for show ....we treat are dogs with great care unlike the pet stores ..this ppaws bill stinks ....
This is the STUPIDEST thing I have read!. Do not pass this. Worry about your self and your home. You can not prevent how puppies are born in a litter. As long as the sire and dame as well as puppies and any other pet you have is cared for,happy and healthy why does it matter?
Worry about stopping mills not "hobby" breeders. We have had so much taken away from us as it is. It is not right or fair to tell us what we can and can't do. I thought this was America and we had the right to be free??? Am I wrong? Passing this is taking away from what it means to be American...........
I support this petition. Listen my people, We, have not ceded this power, which 'PAWS' represents, to the federal government. Never obtain a license for the exercise of a right. Licenses are for privileged activities. Impeach them, prosecute and punish them for their usurpation of power.
I support this petition. I think that if every one opens there eyes to what is going on we counld all stand up for our dogs. Because they cant stand up for themself. my dogs are my childern not just my hobby!

I support this petition. There are still a few people left with half a brain and a conscience to know what's right and wrong, that know better than to abuse animals. Why do the STUPID & IMMORAL few ALWAYS have to dictate what everyone else experiences. Enough of "Big Brother" invading our homes and backyards and breathing down our necks! This PRESENT DAY reign of "dictatorship" rule here in the US has got to end!!
I am really tired of the government making more laws to control our lives. PAWS is just another animal rights movement trying to take the enjoyment of pets away from the people. I totally support measures to stop animal abusers, but beyond that, it's up to individuals to enjoy their animals as they see fit. We dont need further government control, and we do not want "animal rights" groups dictating what we do with our pets, particularly when many of these "animal rights" groups are lacking in animal knowledge at least, and are eco-terrorists at most. PAWS must go and this bill should be flushed down the nearest toilet.

It is funny how we have stricter laws for owning animals than for child welfare. As a animal owner I resent any mor regulations that basicly tell me i am too stupid to know what is best for my animals. Better to spend the tax payers money writing tougher laws to keep REAL criminals behind bars rather then harrasing law abiding animal owners
Yes, there are problems with the Animal Welfare Act as times have changed since it was written. There are some basic concepts about PAWS 2005 that could be extremely beneficial to animals, but not as it's being proposed.
This bill is unnecessary and unwarrented. As many have pointed out already, it gives government and special inerest groups even more power to enter and regualte our lives. After passage of the Patriot Act, our government needs little enough reason to assert itself upon us that this proposition is nearly redundant. A second point of note is the increased cost to our taxpayers who would have to foot the bill for increased bureaucracy, hiring and training of additional USDA inspectors, and legislative and litigation costs. Let's all use a little commom sense about this and all other proposed legislation. Ask yourself, "Is this truly necessary, and will it be effective in addrassing the problem it is intended to remedy?" Remember, every new power the government obtains is one less aspect of your own life that you lose control of. Are you willing to surrender your rights for this or any bill put forth? If the answer is yes, then voice your views. But when the answer is no as I hope it will be with regards to PAWS, we as citizens have not the right but the duty and responsibility to make ourselves heard.
NO,do not pass this bill. We do not need more legislation. When a U.S. citizen loses the right to breed their own pet because of bureacracy it is time to rid ourselves of the people who put such an idiotic plan into effect. Senators and representatives are supposed to represent the people, not some insane individual, or misinformed minority group. Before you start voting on any bill you should have knowledge of that subject. Apparently Sen. Santorum is not intelligent enough to discriminate between fact and falsehood. If you senators want to pass a bill, put one into legislation to get rid of the idiots in congress and the senate.
As a responsible USDA licensed breeder who happily complies with the current regulations, I am adamantly opposed to the passage of this bill. It violates the privacy of our citizens and does NOT provide for the proper care and well-being of any animal.
i think the government has enough problems dealing with human issues.if they can't do that right what makes them think they have a right to invade elsewhere?
Not only is this a wrong-headed and invasive thing to attempt, but how on earth does Santorum propose to pay for all this extra governmental oversight???
Please use my tax dollars more wisely. This legislation will only place more burden and bureaucracy in the Federal Government and the USDA.
