7 Jun 2005 - 20:13    Robert Brady :
7 Jun 2005 - 20:22    R Bruskiewitz :
7 Jun 2005 - 20:56    Lois Stevens : Let's face it, this country is in need of a money infusion to take care of the programs in place. This will certainly take money needed for NECESSARY PROGRAMS, and harm people in need. This proposal has not been thought through at all, it is just thrown together, no thought about the outcome.
7 Jun 2005 - 21:04    Roy Stevens :
7 Jun 2005 - 21:06    Jaimie Wyckoff :
7 Jun 2005 - 21:07    Carolyn Cascia : This bill is ridiculous and should not be passed.
7 Jun 2005 - 21:10    Brenda Monroe :
7 Jun 2005 - 21:10    Ronnan Moffett :
7 Jun 2005 - 21:11    Barbara Johnson :
7 Jun 2005 - 21:16    Marjorie Martorella : 1-USDA cannot enforce this bill. 2- It gives the federal government the authority to regulate a hobby in the privacy of a personal residence. 3- Current USDA regulations cover commercial breeding establishments, not a breeding program in a private residence.
7 Jun 2005 - 21:25    Elizabeth Turner :
7 Jun 2005 - 21:48    Shirly Stegmayer : Hobby breeders do a lot more testing than puppy mills do none. This bill certainly will not help us at all.
7 Jun 2005 - 21:56    Melissa Kirby :
7 Jun 2005 - 21:57    Beverly T. Wall : No! No!
7 Jun 2005 - 22:01    Livia Buremi :
7 Jun 2005 - 22:19    Anton Wiedemeier : hobbyist breeders ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. Don't burden our already limited abuility to enforce exhisting laws!
7 Jun 2005 - 22:22    Angela Chamberlain : There are so many problems with this proposed legislation, I can't even believe it is being seriously considered!
7 Jun 2005 - 22:44    Alyson Krupica : This will invade and discourage those that love animals from breeding and will isolate more animals.
7 Jun 2005 - 22:44    Jo Ann Summers : Please target the puppy mills, not our small breeders who raise their puppies in their homes.
7 Jun 2005 - 22:46    Noel Newton : The bottom line is why a US Senator would present/support a bill that would pit Americans against each other in an effort to divide the country.
7 Jun 2005 - 22:46    Leslie Hernandez :
7 Jun 2005 - 23:05    Monica Jenkins :
7 Jun 2005 - 23:10    Jolene Roudebush : This bill may have good intensions, but, is poorly thought out.
7 Jun 2005 - 23:21    Anne Saylor :
7 Jun 2005 - 23:35    Melody Zirk : Please DO NOT support this bill. Go after the real puppy and kittens millers, not responsible breeders. This law will only contribute to that problem.
7 Jun 2005 - 23:51    Pamelal S. Carle :
7 Jun 2005 - 23:56    Laura Lawrence :
7 Jun 2005 - 23:58    Pam Scungio : why not go after the real abusers rather than the animal lovers
8 Jun 2005 - 0:07    Stephanie Hedgepath :
8 Jun 2005 - 0:15    Sally Baugniet : This is a very unnecessary bill with requirements that will invade the private residences of persons who love and care for their animals. The people of our country are slowly losing their rights as citizens of the USA, many times at the expense of Legislators duped by seemingly clever persons. This country is based on democracy not socialism. Please pull this bill and let the current USDA function as it is.
8 Jun 2005 - 0:16    Tracie :
8 Jun 2005 - 0:17    Joan Connors : I am asking the framers of this bill to revist what they have set down and to consider the impact, harm and total devastation the passage of this bill will have on the MAJORITY of responsible breeders, exhibitors and pet owns, just to ferret out the MINORITY of negligent breeders. This is not the way to go about it. PLEASE STRIKE DOWN bill and prove that we have come a long way from the days of the Salem Witch Hunts and Ku Klux Klan Persecutions.
8 Jun 2005 - 0:23    Diana Engelbart : This bill has problems on a number of levels: 1. It would require the creation, administraton and maintenance of a large bureauracy that would be expensive to establish and maintain. This is a time of economic slowdown and the country simply can not afford to spend money in this way. Our tax dollars would be better served in programs to encourage business growth, repair infrastructure and bolster education. 2. This bill is redundant. Laws are in place to protect animals and ensure community health. Those laws should be used. Creating a new law that is essentially identical to existing ones is a poor use of government. 3. The extent of this bill is in violation of the fourth amendment to the Constitution, protection from unlawful search and seizure. Congress should not consider passing unconstitutional legislation. 4. Time spent considering this bill is a misuse of congressional resources. There are so many other, more compelling issues for congress to focus on.
8 Jun 2005 - 0:26    Jessica Murphy :
8 Jun 2005 - 0:26    Marlene Keith : Our animals are like our children. Very much loved and well taken care of. Most of what breeders make are put back into their animals to insure that they are healthy and eat the best of foods. As private citizens, you are taking away out rights. Thank you
8 Jun 2005 - 0:30    Laurie Wagner : I am a responsible breeder who raises well-socialized Ragdoll cats IN MY HOME. This fact does not make me a commercial breeder. It will be impossible to comply with the USDA regulations which are written for large commercial catteries, while birthing kitten babies in my bedroom, and raising kittens underfoot as part of my family. Please kill this bill, which could put an end to the cat fancy and home-raised, home-socialized purebred kittens.
8 Jun 2005 - 0:37    Carolyn Mueller : This will harm small breeders and do nothing against the large volume puppy mills. Please don't support it.
8 Jun 2005 - 0:43    Adrienne Baker :
8 Jun 2005 - 0:50    Nancy Black :
8 Jun 2005 - 0:55    Pattie Bushman :
8 Jun 2005 - 1:00    Marilyn Marshall : I agree Deana, enforce the laws that we have instead of passing more laws.
8 Jun 2005 - 1:07    Dawn Lott :
8 Jun 2005 - 1:14    Julie C. Grider :
8 Jun 2005 - 1:30    Claire McCabe :
8 Jun 2005 - 1:33    LaRhonda Jones :
8 Jun 2005 - 1:34    Linda Sommer : This would ad another level of government. Colorado and many other states already have state level regualations that cover breeders at this level. Hobby breeder who work out thier home and are seen by the animal buyers are the best source of happy healthy purebred pets.
8 Jun 2005 - 1:37    Sande Weigand : You need to police the puppy mills, not responsible breeders. Please stop this bill.
8 Jun 2005 - 1:42    Denise Perkovich :
8 Jun 2005 - 1:52    LR LANDRY : Time for some responsible people, who know the difference between loving and caring pet breeders and 'puppy mill and kitty mills.... time to step up to the plate and leave those who have no room for flexibility and who love to tar everyone with the same brush to be knocked down a few extra rungs on their 'holier than thou' ladders! Not ALL people who raise purebred animals are 'mills' Most are caring individuals who love their animals like their own children and they abhor the unethical practices of 'mills' Go after the ones who ARE being inhumane, and get some people who have some facts on what constitutes inhumane treatment....
