Thank you for what you've done for students on campus. The undersigned are here to propose a different method for reaching out to students to utilize your services. Most students who need counseling the most are driven away from seeking help by fear. Some don't even know where your offices are. We propose that you draw up a simple, perhaps 5 question optional survey for students to fill out mid-semester. In this survey, you could ask simple questions like, "currently, have you felt overwhelming anxiety?" etc, and end with a space for the student's phone number if they would like to schedule an appointment or drop in. Then it's up to the department to do its job and call that student with a welcoming heart. In this way, the department is taking the initiative to show they care. We believe 100% that this method will draw more students to the department and improve the spirit on PCC's campus!
