I completely support this petition. Providing a sound future for our nation being considered "optional" is absolutely absurd! My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for 8 years. We did one cycle of IVF unsuccessfully completely out of pocket. We cannot afford to do any more cycles. This is a true medical issue and I see it as being discriminatory against roughly 17% of the total population. Stop funding "welfare moms" who have kids to get extra money and use those funds to help couples with fertility issues.
I support this petition. Please put this into effect. I have been trying to get pregnant for a year and no luck. My insurance doesn't cover infertility treatment at all!! And i have a Horrible deductible to get the testing done to even diagnos infertility.. Please Help
I am one of the many people struggling with infertility right now. Since I was just a little girl, all I ever wanted to do was be a mother. And because of something that is out of my control, I can't do that right now and it is killing me inside. Please, please help us to achieve our dreams!
Pennsylvania government pays for welfare receipients to receive benefits from those who actually do work. Included in this is the CHIP program. I work for a living, my husband works and we can afford a child--we just cannot have one without attempting to use infertility treatments. So I can pay for non-working adults to support their children by paying taxes and I cannot receive one dime of help for trying to have children that I can support myself. Shame on Pennsylvania.
I agree, having the same issue due to minimual 5000 coverage lifetime max that's not even close to what ivf will cost or any of the medications for treatment!
Infertility is so difficult to handle and the reason we suffer is an underlying medical condition. We suffer because we cannot have children and we suffer because they will not treat our medical problems. It is a crime that women are not treated with dignity in this situation.
Please help us get the medical treatment we need. We have a medical condition that should be covered by insurance just as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer treatments are covered. This is not our choice and the treatment is not
I have not become pregnant after 2 years of trying, and with no insurance to help with diagnostics, I will never know if I can become pregnant. This is a huge issue in the united states and our government, who is to help and protect us, should be obligated to help us live full happy lives.
I long to conceive a child with my husband, but we need more treatments not covered by our insurance. Please help us and many other struggling couples be able to have these treatment options available. Thank you.
Insurance carriers in states other than PA are mandated to cover infertility. Infertility is a medical diagnosis and therefore insurances in PA should be mandated to cover, at least in part, treatments including IVF
We want to have a baby but my husband can't have any kids due to his health problems with being a diabetes for 33 years. The IVF is so expensive not including the sperm donor and which there are help to pay for it or pay nothing for it for people with low-income
It is ridiculous that insurance companies refuse to cover a MEDICAL CONDITION that is not a choice. As if having fertility problems in the first place wasn't emotionally draining enough, you have to figure out how in the world you can pay for all those tests they send you for.
Please do something about this. There are so many of us suffering. Alot of us are spending money we don't have to have a child... something that so many other couples take for granted.
please help us this is a disability that could be fixed you have that power to make every thing right for every one .who no's some one you help could grow up to be a governer, mayor,or president to help your familys live safe free and healthy and god for bid your wife, sister,or daughter run in to this problem they will be set for help to keep the family on going all cause of you.
My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 2 1/2 years. We have had two pregnancies, but both of them ended up in miscarriage. My husband has a low sperm count, and everytime we go to the fertility doctor, they say we need to try in vitro fertilization, but we can't afford it. We live in NJ, and there's already a NJ State Mandate for infertility, but my husband works (in NJ), but for a company based out of PA. We're stuck following the PA laws and there is not an infertility mandate yet. We want a baby more than anything in this world, and would work so hard at being the best parents we could possibly be. It's emotionally and physically draining to go through each cycle with the hopes of being pregnant, and to have your dreams crushed every month. I beg you to consider the hopes and dreams of all the men and women who signed this petition.
