They can let Steinbrenner stay in baseball and continue to destroy the game after being convicted of a felony, but a true legend that baseball truly needs now more than ever can't get in the Hall of Fame. If he can't get in, take out Babe Ruth for his, overeating, drinking problem, chain smoking, and womanizing. And take Ty Cobb out for being a prick and a racist. And you better not let Steinbrenner in, ever.
Let Pete in! There are drug addicts and acaholics in the Hall but a man who gambled can't get in. Pete Rose payed the crime of anything he might have done to disgrace baseball and now enough is enough. Rose is the Hit King! There are Casinos ads at stadiams around the MLB and Pete Rose was just using the services that the MLB was advertising. Let him in!
My Claim Is This Pete Rose Was The Greatest Of My Time I Watched Him Play as a Child And I must Say If I Had One Wish Before I Pass Is TO See Charlie Hustle Take His Place Among The Most Elite Baseball Players Like Nolan Ryan And Willie Mays And Hank Aaron And Babe Ruth BECAUSE PETE YOU RANK AMONG THE MOST ELITE TO EVER GRACE THE FIELD...YES HE SHOULD Get To Take His Place In The HALL....
Pete Rose was one of the best of all time on the field. That's what the Hall of Fame is all about. Honoring the best on the field. He did things that are despicable, but he was still one of the best. Nothing can change that.
the hall of fame was designed to recognize those players who stood out as exceptional. Pete rose was one of those players. If there was a hall of shame, he should go in, but there isnt.
Pete was one of the greatest baseball players ever. Players are elected into the hall based upon their PLAYING careers, not their personality. If personality were an issue, we better get Ty Cobb out right now, even though he was a great.
Pete did nothing to tarnish the name of baseball when so many other professional players have been in so much other trouble and always get a slap on the hand then nothing else becomes of it...
Pete Rose was, without question, one of the Heroes of his era, and his ability, had nothing to do with his gambling.
He deserves his place with other Heroes who would gladly welcome him alongside them in the Hall of Fame!
The HOF is about what they did on the field. What he did off the field is a WHOLE different story. Barry's having his steroid scandal, and he'll still get in...so why can't Charlie Hustle get in??????
Pete Rose induction into the Hall of Fame should be based on what he did on the playing field. His equipment is in the Hall. Didn't he use it when he was playing? There are many other players that had problems are in the Hall!
I've been going to ball games since the A's and Phillies played in Sheibe Park! With all the junk going on now, what Pete Rose did looks like child's play! GIVE HIM A BREAK! He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame and didn't use drugs to get there!
When so many players have been given 2nd and 3rd chances with their DRUG problem. There is no way in many of Baseball fans that Pete Rose has not paid his dues. Now its time to step up and let him in where he belongs the Hall of Fame!
HUSTLE! HUSTLE! HUSTLE!Pete had a sickness, and nothing more. He deserves to be in the HOF. He didn't do anything to enhance his play, unlike Bonds, Canseco & Giambi...except for his HUSTLE! Put Pete in his rightful place! HOF
The doctrine of baseball rests on fierce competition by conscientious and hardworking players. Pert Rose exemplified those values absolutely. The hit king deserves to be recognized for his efforts.
Pete is one of the best.Others have done worse. Just take a look at FOOTBALL....... I say get him in the Hall. But if not he is still one of the
best in the game.
Pete Rose is by far one of the greatest players off all time. If players today can use steriods and have a shot to be in the hall..then he should be in...betting didnt effect the way he played the game.
Let Pete in he was awesome when he played. He is also one of the nicest persons that i've ever met baseball player or not. If you have to put an ** beside his name
Hmmmm... let in the racists, misogynists, and heterosexists, but keep the gamblers out! Sounds like good policy to me...
*hopes people detect obvious sarcasm*
People have done worse things and are in. Ty Cobb was a murder. Let Rose intot he Hall, but don't let him do anything in baseball ever again. Give him an induction day in Cooperstown, but don't let him manage, don't let him be apart of anything else in baseball. This problem of letting him in will not go away. Just look at his numbers and let him in based upon that.
Also, if you let him in, let Joe Jackson in and the rest of the 1919 White Sox that are eligible.
pete rose is the man pure hustle and grit, my kind of player. the players nowadays could learn a thing or 2 from him, he should be a first ballot hof. hes got my vote
"THE ALL-TIME Hit King" Pete Rose DESERVES to be Elected into the Hall of Fame. No One will ever come close to Rose's accomplishments in Baseball. Everyone Makes Mistakes in Life and regrets them later, He definitely has shown remorse for what he has done and has. Let Pete be Reinstated into Baseball and Elected into the Hall of Fame!!!
This man has done everything that was expected out of him, never messed with drugs, but gets thrown out of the Hall for betting, thats a shame. What about Ty Cobb. Look at him, he was worse but he is in.
He has held a great historic record on the field, and was one of the hardest working players, and because of one mistake, he is banished? come on, let the man in already!
He bet for his own team to win, AFTER he had already become the all-time hit king, sure it wa s ascrew up, but it can't overshadow what he did as a HITTER. LET HIM IN!
He needs to go just cause he messed up and betted doesnt take away what he done on the field. We all mess up but does that make us a bad person? ROSE HOF 2005
