Dear Mr. Selig, We have all made mistakes. How long will Pete Rose have to pay? He was one of the greatest players and gave his all as a player to baseball and the fans. Why is it that when I visit the Hall of Fame, I pay addmission to see a few of Pete Rose's historical items, but I can't see his Hall of Fame Plaque?Baseball powers (Bud Selig)talk about INTEGRITY, then stop categorically deciding who should be punished or not!!Please Do The Right Thing. Pete Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame!!!!!!
Pete should be in both Reds and baseball HOF, but not allowed to manage. He should also publicly apologize to his millions of fans for 15 years of denial despite accepting a lifetime ban.
Look at the two newest players being inducted into the hall of fame (Ripken and Gwinn). These two played forever and both, great hitters, are at only 3,1?? hits a piece. We will not see a 4,000 hit player in our life-time, no questions asked. Barry Bonds is not even close to 3,000 for heaven's sake.
You're tellin me that you want juiced up Bonds to break Aarons record and be in the hall, but not the best player with the most love for the game ever to play. Reports have said even by Dowd, he only bet for his team. Whats wrong with that. He had faith in his team, something Bonds sure don't have.
Pete Rose has every right to be in the hall of fame. Betting is legal in America, and steriods is illegal? So why can't someone who doesn't break the law be in the hall of fame?
Since one of the ideas is to split strings not into words, but hopefully into phrases more semantically informative than the words they are made of, doing that better should mean better suggestions, and avoiding what essentially are word n-tuples should make for smaller data and slightly faster querying.
Bonjour! What a super websight! Very refreshing to peruse from where we live in Paris (France). I eat frogs and drink wine. Woold like more informatons on this. Best regards! Mikael.
I got the same tramadol attack... well, not the same, because it was only about 20 comments instead of 90, and i t have any filtering set up, and I just deleted them one at a time... hmm.. the only thing really in common was that it was about tramadol... what filter do you have set up that caught them all?

I always have terrible trouble with comment-related plugins that require me to put some line in the comment loop; I can never seem to find the right spot. Can anyone tell me where I should put the php line in my comments loop? I haven not modified anything much, and I would be very grateful. Thanks!
Isn't the Baseball Hall of Fame for what a player did on the ballfield? Few players have played baseball the way Pete played BASEBALL! Pete Rose is how Baseball should be played! Some of these Million plus a year players today do not even come close! PUT PETE IN THE HALL of FAME!
This 38 year old guy still remembers wanting to be Pete every single day of my youth while growing up in small town Arkansas. I'm not intimidated by anyone but even as a grown up, last year I couldn't even walk up to Pete while I was in Las Vegas. I just looked at him from a distance. And to think that I'm a lawyer that deals with people every day. I've made a personal commitment to not go to Cooperstown until he's in. Its an extreme injustice that I know will be corrected some day. I only hope its while Pete is alive.
Pete's fault had no effect on the tremendous career he had as a player. Pete is one of the best players to play the game and deserves his due recognition.
because Pete Rose was set up by CHIP CO. when He refused to endorse a line of products MLB and Chip CO. had already manufactured called "Rose'ems". Pete Rose sighted childrens already bad eating habits when asked about Rose'ems. Cooperstowne doesn't deserve Pete Rose.
I wish Pete had bet on his team. Aleast he would put more inthe game the the owners do. Maybe betting on the outcome of the game would be better than paying millions for plays.
LET PETE IN.......
Who has done more for Baseball than Pete.
All he did was bet on baseball. Barry Bonds has brought more shame to the sport then Pete did! People don't even care about what Barry is doing in the sport. Ruth did it on beer and hot dogs...
Pete Rose is one of the greatest players to play the game. To rob him of that would be a travesty. Why does the baseball world shun him and celebrate Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Palmeiro, Sosa and others who have, without a doubt used steriods (something that actually affects the outcome of games).
Seriously, do you think that Pete was the only one that did what he did? Look at the people who did steriods! You people praise them for what they did!! Pete Rose didn't do anything to affect how he played or how the game was played. He earned his stats fair and square and has earned the right to be in the hall of fame and everyone knows it!
Stop being ridiculous, i don't care how much of an idiot he is and what he has done. Last time I checked, Ty Cobb wasn't an admirable citizen and show "integrity to the game." This is getting out of hand, let him in for god's sake
Pete rose is one if the
greatest players to ever play
the game. Despite what they
say, the hall of fame isnt
about personality and values.
mickey mantle and babe ruth
had no moral values. Babe
ruth was a womanizer and
mantle a drunk. dont get me
wrong, they were amazing
players, not so amazing
people. Pete rose absoulutey
deserves to be in the hall of
fame, he holds over 30
records. you must be crazy to
say what he did should keep
him out of baseball history.
He deserves to be in Hall of fame. Why does steroids pump up McGwire is not banned ? He was drugged up when he put his name in the record book. Is it more or less honest ? Pete Rose put his name in the record book while being physically clean. I guess time will tell who's honest...
Everyone make mistakes. Pete has paid for them and continues to pay for them today. Why refuse to recognize his greatness because of a few bad calls of judgement. He holds so many records, some that may never be broken; with something like that in the tables Rose should be able to join the Hall of Fame with the other greats of baseball. Without him, the Hall of Fame is missing apart of its history. Is that fair to the hall itself, to the many fans that go there each year, and to the other people that are remembered in it?
Pete made a mistake of judgement by gamblin. However it is nothing compaired to the garbage that occurs by present players today. He deserves to be recognized for his playing ability and dedication to the game, not his poor behavior and misjudgement as a manager. Let Pete in the Hall of Fame. He was an important figure for me when I was a child. I tried to play like Pete and put the same effort into the game. Because of that effort I could of played college ball on a full scholarship at Oregon State and possibly followed a career that was similar to my Uncle Johnny Callison had. However, I choose a career in the fire service. Afterall, its a game.
I grew up watching Pete Rose play. He was my idol as a young boy playing baseball. Let him in the Hall of Fame. He is the greatest player of all times!

Pete only bet on his own team. Every player/manager does that every day just by being a member of the ball club. Only Pete had the balls to put up money.
Pete is arguably the best player to ever have played baseball and he should be allowed into the Hall of Fame. He didn't bet on baseball as a player and his accomplishments as a player are reason enough to get him reinstated.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame, he has more than enough statistics to back him up. Ty Cobb killed a man and baseball looked right past it, C'mon the man deserves to be with the rest of Baseball's elite players.
No doubt he should be in the hall. If he is banned then i want bonds and canseco and anyone else who used steriods banned. The hall is about how well you play, not what you do off the field!!!
