We, Philadelphia baseball fans from all over the world, hereby demand a radical change in color, scheme, and overall design for both the home and visiting uniforms of the Philadelphia Phillies. The city of Philadelphia, the first capital of the United States of America, is a metropolis rich in both culture and history and therefore deserves a basbeball team that reflects the uniqueness of its character. Numerous teams in Major League Baseball lay claim to the colors of red and white (St. Louis, Los Angeles - Anaheim, Boston, Cincinatti) and furthermore these colors have long been associated with defeat and frustration in this city, and as this 2006 Phillies team strives to reinvent itself, it is going to need a new uniform to complete its transformation. Many believe the uniform should reflect the glory years of of the World Series Champions, while others yearn for an entirely new look. Whatever the change may be, it must be unique to all of major league baseball, standing out in color and design - a true reflection of the city of Philadelphia. Heneforth, we fans demand that the uniform be changed by the 2008 season as a celebratory act for the direction in which this young team is headed.
