Animals are vicious for only two reasons: Their owners are mistreating them, or there is something genetically wrong with them. Pit Bulls have been proven to be one of the most loving, caring, and protective breeds, and needlessly killing all because of what a few have done is a height of stupidity and arrogance that can only lead to MORE problems. What will be the next misunderstood canine breed to go? Will it be Rottweilers? Or Doberman Pincers? Or maybe, the German Shepherd? There is no logic in the systematic killings of ANY of these breeds of canine. Stop punishing the entire breed because of what a few of them have done - and probably, they did it with good reason!
Education not destruction should be the word of the day. It is a sign of the times that our legislators are so willing to take the easy way out and destroy what they don't understand, rather than take time from their "all important lives" to educate themselves and their constituants. Lazy..and laziness breeds contempt. Why not find homes elsewhere for these beautiful animals....there are always options. If we destroy every dog becuase of it's breed, then shouldn't we destroy every criminal because of their tendencies? Wake up people, and get a grip on yourselves.
This is not right. Animals can not help but to obey their masters. Don't let a few bad owners give all the dogs a bad name. There are so many pit bulls that are so friendly and enjoyable. Their owners don't deserve this.
It is never the fault of the animals - it is the people who do not know how to treat them and who shoulkd be held responsible. Why should owners of loving and friendly pit bulls be put through this anguish!
There is no justice in discriminating against a breed of dog, sentencing them to death just for being what they are. It is irresponsible owners who should be targeted, not innocent dogs. It is they who have given the breed a bad name. Please save these dogs.
The dogs aren't born agressive, they are made that way by ignorant, self-absorbed morons. Perhaps there should be a way where only loving persons can own this breed of dog. As they are very loving and devoted animals. It's the creatures that 'care' for them that need regulations.
Any dog raised in a proper environment will be an animal capable of interacting in a positive manner with people and other animals. We need to spend more time looking at who is breeding and raising these animals instead of at the animals themselves.
Responsible care of this breed is what we require. Dogs well broughtup and taken care of are not dangerous. People who have them should undergo a course on how to have them. Kill them because a few tragic results is not the solution, othewise their owners should also be killed.
Pit Bulls are an important part of American history and are wonderful dogs and it is ridiculous to think that ignorance on the part of an un or ill-informed public can lead to the degredation and cruel treatment of a breed that was the first recognized American Breed, not to mention the breed that helped the westward settlers. This breed deserves recognition not damnation, I am outraged at the poor way Denver and other areas of the US are treating mans best friend.
Pitbulls are not aggressive dogs by nature, it is people who train them to be so. Banning these dogs and having the ones who are already in these cities euthanized is not the right thing to do.

Punishing the specific dogs who behave abnormally violent and abusive, and punishing the owners that make those monsters, would make far more sense than punishing an entire breed for the mistakes of a few. PitBulls do not have the highest attack_humans occurence. Let's use our brains, shall we?
All I have to say is " Punish the DEED NOT the BREED "! I have two pitbulls and believe it or not the most highly dog to bit someone is a COCKER SPANIEL ! NOT A PITBULL. so maybe you need to think about that before you do "bans" on breeds of dogs, it's not the dog , its the owner that trains the dog to fight. It isnt in the dogs nature to fight.
I have a boxer mixed with a pitbull and she is the sweetest thing ever! People are so ignorant! People just train their dogs to do that! It's not the breed's fault!
Its so terrible that thses animals have to suffer because of humans who abuse them and make them extremely aggressive. These dogs do not deserve this and i'm appalled at this news!
