Pits aren't a bad breed of dogs. i got three and i'm telling you what, if you don't mess with me, my sister, my mom, or my cousin, they won't mess with you. Oh and i mean if your going to agitate them, they're going to bite you, but so is any other dog. There are more german sheperd attacks then there are pit bull attacks. The only reason people say a pits jaws lock, is because they have an overbite so you can't pull them off.
what is wrong with this world.. As a pitbull owner I cant believe they think that these beautiful animals need to be ban from anywhere. I have a year old pit and a 8 year old pit/boxer mix and they are the greatest dogs I have ever owned. People need to stop blaming the dogs and start blaming the owners. Most people are claiming they need to be band because of their lockjaw they have. Well if you treat a dog the way it should be then it dont matter if they have a lockjaw or not. Any dog can bite it not brought up right. Should we band roosters also? Take time today and hug your pitbull and please owners treat them right. If it wasnt for the bad owners using these pets to fight then there wouldnt be a band anywhere.

If the genius' that are trying to ban pitbulls did any research at all about the species they would know a few things:
1-Pitbulls are the most loyal breed of dog there is. A pitbull would go up against a lion to protect its owner.
2-Pitbull attacks are far less in number then many other breeds of dogs. the number of rotweiller and dooberman attacks far outnumber that of pitbulls.
3-Pitbulls are amongst the smartest breed of dog there is.
4-It is not the dog it is the owner. Any dog becomes vicious when trained improperly and mistreated.
The fact that would want to eliminate this species because of the mistakes made by other humans just goes to show who the true animals are.
Why the pitbulls? The government is only seeing the bad side of these dogs. It's not only the pitbulls that can be dangerous, it's any dog that get irritated enough. I was once bitten by a very nice golden retriever and those are the best dogs ever. So don't go and tell me only pitbulls are like that. If the owners would do their jobs, we wouldn't be going through this, it's not the dog's fault it's the owners. I am in love with every single dog and animal out there so this is all just to say that it can happen to anyone by any dog...This is ridiculous!
I owned a beatiful, loving pit bull (anabel) and she was the best dog that i gave ever had. if trained the right way and loved the right way with a possitive sorounding pit bulls are the bets dog a person could ever have.

This is disgusting. Yes, pit bulls have some natural tendencies to be agressive, but the owners can easily avoid that becoming a dominant trait in the dogs behaviour. I know some pit bulls that are the some of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. It's soo ignorant to ban/kill pit bulls. Maybe if the owners knew how to care for their pets in the first place, we wouldn't be wasting our energy on signing this petition.

a animal is a reflection of its owner, any animal, not just a pit bull, no one has the right to ban an animal b.c of images other owners give to it. a lion can b tamed and trained to be safe. as so a put bull, if an animal under the name of a human hurts someone, it should b the reflection of the owner, and thus the owner should b chared, not the putbull comminity ( sorry for spelling xDD )
Pitbulls are like any other breed of dogs, they are just misunderstood and looked as "violent" dogs because of what occurs within society these days, but it isn't the dogs fault, it's the way the owner is treating the dog. They are reacting the same way as any other dog would if they weren't treated the right way, they should NOT be banned.
I am a very strong supporter. My friends pitbul has just been put to sleep, and its very unpleasent to think about a dog dieing. All dogs are capable of hurting humans. If your going to put to sleep a pitbul, might as well put asleep all dogs!
Pitbulls are a reflection of the owners. i own 3 pitbulls, and all three of them are very peaceful kind dogs. Pitbulls are only vicious if the owners grow them in a violent enviornment, highly educated people in the governmetn who pass bills should AT LEAST know this.

i think it is so wrong. ihave a story to tell u. my aunt she had a pit and the cops shot him 7 times and killed him cause he scared one of the fucking cops. he was fixed and ihs teeth were filed down. he was harmless
If your children behave badly, it is a refelction of your parenting skills. This DOES NOT MEAN we should start putting a ban on producing or rearing children. This is by far a discrace to the Canadian Legal system and I am very disappointed to say that I am a Canadian!
Its how the dogs are raised. Its the OWNERS FAULT, not the dogs. What happens to the owners if their dog does something wrong? Usually nothing. The dog owners who allow their dogs to bite and snap at people should not be allowed to own a dog!!

I think breed banning isa load of bull. It is not the breed it is the people who own them. So if they pass the law every dog that looks like a pitbull will be killed. I don't think any one can pick out a pitbull in out of 25 dogs. So if I kill my mom will you ban 16 year old girls from your state. So a little dog can attack a baby and nobody cares but if a big dog attacks somebody then the get penalized.
We adopted Houston two years ago from the local animal shelter. A truck driver brought him there after he found him abandoned and wandering along Interstate 81, hence the shelter gave him his name. When we first saw him, he was very frightened, stressed, and thin. However, when our eyes met it was love at first sight...NOT bite, as most people have been led to believe. Houston is the most lovable, affectionate, loyal, intelligent, and obedient dog that we have ever had the pleasure of having as a family member. His sweet personality has changed the opinions of many about the breed. He is truly an Ambassador for Pitbulls. As with childrearing, there are not "bad" children but there are bad parents. The same goes for dog owners. Children AND dogs learn what they live and eventually become products of their environment.

I own two pitbulls and my life wouldn't be the same without their love and friendship. I grew up with a pitbull and the connection these dogs have with their owners is such love and compassion, and I feel that no one should be deprived of this due to ignorance and stupidity. I have never seen a dog attract so much attention and just positive comments from the public than my dog (she is an angel). People need to own one to understand one.

There is no such thing as a BAD dog (pitbull) just a bad owner instead of killing try passing a law that is for the good like a law that you have to go through an obdiance class at owners expence for a certian period of time to assure that the dog will be trained properly. Did you know that president Roosevelt owned a pitbull in the white house? It is true they were also used in world war 2.
