I have been around pitbulls and i have never seen any agression .The truth is that inresponsable owners have created all this and because of them pitbulls have a bad name . i wonder what breed will go next

Every time you hear a dog attacking someone or killing a child it is always a pitbull. If it is the exclusively the owner's fault why don't you hear similiar stories about Labs, poodles, terriers, of Golden Retrievers?

I rehabilitate dogs, including many pitbulls. An aggressive dog is the fault of HUMANS NOT the DOGS!!! I have been accepted by Ryerson University but if I can't take my Pit Bulls to Ontario, then I will have to go somewhere else. This is not fair!!!

we found an abused pitbull dog we cleaned up fed walked and loved in a short amount of time called aspca for them to take the dog without realizing it was handing her over to a death sentence because we know the person will not claim her because she was abused and inhumanely kept I thought that I was helping by turning her in when really she is now destined to death How unfair cruel what did the dog do nothing but become a victim of society
I think this ban is absolutley ridiculous and show's complete ignorance. It's really unfortunate that because of irresponsible owners an entire breed of dog has to suffer. This ban is extreme and if anything, regulations should be enforced for breeders/buyers to deter people who only want a pitbull for their image.
This is the most majestic of breeds, they want to say pitties are dangerous well then I say poodles are dangerous you're more likely to get bit by one.

I had pittys around my kids as they were babies and never would they bite my kids my kids would torture them pull their ears climb all over them and unno what never was I in fear,now we go to a friends house they have a small little dog and unno what 2 of my kids got bit that day so u tell me its the owner not the breed
I owned a pitbull and she was not in the least bit vicious at all. Please stop the ban. My pittbull Brandy has since passed away and will always be in our hearts. We would like to have another pitbull as we had such a good experience with Brandy
I have 2 pitbulls and a 4 month old baby and my dogs love her so much the always give her kisses and sleep in her righ beside her crib every time she cries the get up and go right 2 her and make sure she alright the also keep my cats away from her and out of her room everytime the cats try to go near my baby the dogs stand up and bump the cat out of the way with their noses!!!

I own a pit bull and I treat her with the love and respect like I do with my kids and she is great with every living thing on this planet but if you treat your dog like shit you will have a problem. I was reading a note by the Atorney general in 2004 and he mentioned that he agreed with the concerns of thousands of Ontrians about Pitbull being dangerous. This is because they are not educated onj them Most peope Im soeak to that are afraid of Pitbull's haven't even pet one before known one at all.

I've been around Pitbulls my whole life and never had a bad experience. I even took in a Pitbull that was serverely abused. You would think that would change a dog but it didn't and she was the most loveable!!
I've been bit by a Newfoundlander and a Sheppard. Why aren't they being banned. I know the stat's of Sheppard bite's are huge so why only Pitbulls?

Why should pitbull's be bannd they are great animal well at least some... It's all about the owner if the owner is a bad person and doesn't treat pitbull's like the way they need to be treated then pitbull's will bite and become vicious. If the ownr is a loving caring and treats pitbull's they they are saposed to be treated then pitbull's will be nice and they wont bite. Like his person (i will name nameless) has a pitbull and its really nice it doent bite or anything its a sweet dog you now why? Because he treats it nicely. I was petting it the other day and it didnt do anything it was sooo cute i loved it and i dont think all pitbull's should be banned some of them are really nice its unfair and if you do bann them then you should ban every other animal tat bit someone.

Not all dogs banned by the BSL are even pitbulls. Anything that looks like a pitbull is banned. And more people are bitten by German Shepherds and Labs then by pitbulls.
I love pitbulls. I have had one in the past and she was lovable and playful and could never be the monster they make pitbulls out to be. Yes pitbulls do attack somtimes, but it is because of how they are treated. Also when a pitbull attacks it is all over the media even if the vitcim wasnt hurt but if any other dog breed attacks it is overlooked by many people and is always blamed on the owner. Well thats how i feel i hope people get some sence knocked into them and realise that what they are doing is just not right.
Pitbulls are an awsome breed of dogs. the only reason that they become agresive is because eaither the owner is agressive to the dogs or the owner does dont interact with them. its just like any other dog it really depends on the owner
If you want to ban pitbulls for biting people that is fine, but you better ban EVERY breed that has ever bitten a person. That would mean banning EVERY BREED. While you are at it, you should ban black people, white people, yellow people, brown people, every single race of people in the province should be banned from the province because some of them have attacked people. Why stop there, lets ban EVERYTHING from the province that has ever attacked a human. Mosquitoes, snakes, bees, etc. Once you are done we will have a very safe province that will only include single celled organisms.
If you actually read your studies you would see that Pitbulls rank at the top of the list for the LEAST likely to attack unprovoked.

the only reason pitbulls act violent at all is the way their owners treat them, if you want the brutility to stop put the owners in jail, dont hurt the poor animals, i have a pitbull/ golden lab mix and we saved her when she was ten months old. before we got her she had been abused but with our help she made a full recovery and shes 13 she and has never attacked a single person, shes my best friend
I have known many dogs, including Pit Bulls and I have to say the only breed of dog I have ever been attacked by was a Cocker Spaniel. I have a Pit Bull/Akita mix dog, Thoven, who was rescued from a chain when he was seven weeks old. He was tethered to the front porch of a drug house, two days after christmas with a bowl of frozen water and a bed sheet. He is the most amazing dog I have ever met; intelligent, loyal, all things commonly found in a Pit Bull. And he sleeps on my bed every night; I wouldn't trade him for the world, and I can't imagine how anyone can have the capacity to brutalize these beautiful animals, to turn them into guard dogs, fighters, etc. They are truly amazing animals, and I think the world should see that. Banning a dog due to it's "breed" is only going to reinforce the notion that Bully Breeds are dangerous animals.

Pitbulls are no more agresive than any other breed of dogs, and are not more prone to attach. The dogs attitude depends on the owner, not the breed. Pitbulls are one of the most loyal, kind, loving breed of dogs and have been sheilded from this fact by the people who only see the side of a mistreated dog who attachs not by their breed of because of how they were raised.
Just because pit-bulls are capable of attacking, doesn't mean they all will. The creation of an attack dog is because of the owner. Basically any dog could be trained to attack, people just choose pit-bulls because they have lockjaws. It is solely the owner's fault for a pit-bull that is harmful.
I think that this is a wrong decision and should be looked over because if youban the breed people will just move on to another breed and keep going until there is nothing left to use, the people should be banned not the breed. I disagree strongly and hope to god that we can get this to stop.

I have a 5 month old pit. i cant imagine her being violent. Pitts should not be banned from anywhere just because there are irresponsible owners out there who dont know how to train a dog the right way. they deserve same treatment as any other breed!
