Pitbulls are very needly dogs, they need attention and responsible owners.
if i let my dogs run free in the neighborhood, they may just grab a cat, or anouther dog and they may just hurt it, but thats an animal instinct, and i would never just let my dogs run loose. when they go out, i have them leashed, when i take them for a walk, i dont even try to walk them past other dogs, i really dont believe mine would try and attack anouther animal, but why find out the hard way? when my dogs play with other dogs its under my supervision. in my yard, under control.
please, if you are reading this, and you own a pitbull, be responsible with your animal. dont allow your pet to be the next statistic.punish the deed not the breed.
I own two lovely pitbull girls. They are absolutely wonderful dogs. Having owned dogs all my life, I can truly say that these two so-called dangerous dogs are the most wonderful pets I have ever had. Its not the dogs; so lets not blame the dogs!

I have only one thing to say, for some1 who has had dogs all her life ... it's all in how the owners raise their dogs. raise your dog to be kind and gentle, and it will be just that. If a dog does bite, nt only should something happen to the dog, but the owner should be punished as well. Banning one type of dog is wrong ... it;s not just pit bulls that bite .. so why punish the whole bread for the owerns mistakes ... think about it
This ban is 'racist' against the pit bull and fails to address the real problem; irrespsonsible pet breeding and ownership. A lack of ethical laws against animal cruelty and proper ownership has lead to 'backdoor' breeding and inadquate animal care. This is where the problem is and the government is only looking for a quicky solution that will ultimatly lead to failure and the loss of thousands of innocent lives. The only problem with pit bulls is that they are incorrectly assumed to be aggressive and many people intentionally purchase them because of this notion. Unethical breeders looking for a profit breed this trait into their dogs believing it will attract more customers. It is a cycle that will be passed onto other breeds if not the pitbull. A dog's stability and personality are the direct result of their upbringing. I ask our government to not silence thousands of innocent pitbulls. I praise all the people who have signed this petition... someone has to be the voice for these animals, they cannot speak for themselves.
Pitbulls are great dogs, if you raise them in an unloving environment then they will be vicious, but if you love it and baby it, it will be a big ol' suck that loves to sit in ur lap and have you just pet it! This is for Handsome, you were the best looking and best behaved dog in the world!!
Funny how I lost a finger to A Pitt Bull and I don't endorse a contribution to extinction. Have these polititions ever heard of a muzzle? A muzzle law IS the answer. Perhap we should petion to have a muzzle law for short sighted polititions.
I my self was affraid of large breads of dogs, as I had been attack several times by dogs... Dobermines, german shepards, black lab and attacked (chased down when I was a letter carrier (Mailman). I now own my second large breed of dog. The first was an Australian Shepherd, Rottweiler, Border collie cross. The most friendly dog ever, my dog that we bought last year is a pure bred Golden retreiver. Another very friendly dog. I have a couple of friends whom own Pitbulls, and they have never had any problems with them... All dogs will turn at one time or another for what ever reason, sometimes provoked and other times just because you are where you shouldn't be. I blame the owners for the way they bring up and treat their dogs. Any dog can be a lap dog and any dog can be a guard dog. This is just another Government Ploy to try to control our lives, It is all starting to be about Dictatorship and communism. Fuck the Government...
I own a Pit Bull cross, he is now 15 years old. I have 3 children and never once has this dog so much as even growled at my kids or anybody else, yet my kids have been pretty mean to the dog, including the one time when my oldest boy was three at the time I stepped out of the shower to see my sone had covered the dog in shaving cream, and was shaving him. The Pit had blood running down his two front legs, and yet he never even growled, all he had was a llok on his face like why is this child doing this to me! I don't know of any other dog that would be this docile, do you?
not all pitbulls are to blame, inbreading is to blame and thus is the problem with ANY breed of dog, btw the last time i checked, the poodle was considered the most viscious breed of dog, so why dont we ban those instead?????!!!

I am 18 years old and just moved out of my parents house. I have been raised around pits my whole life. I have had over 50 pits. Its all in how you raise them. You teach them to be mean then they are going to be mean and rough. About a year ago I had bought a pit off my dad, and she is the most obedient pit that I have had. The way these ppl are treating these dogs,feeding them gun powered, fighting them, starving them, leaving them there just to die, I'm sorry but thats not right at all. A dog is supposed to be mans best friend. So in a way I don't blame them for banning them.

I own an Amstaff and Iam against the amstaff/pit bull ban! You shouldn't ban just one breed of dog. Labs are #1 for attacking people and children but there will never be a ban for that breed, why this one? Take into consideration all breeds can be vicious not just this one. Respossible pet owners should't be punished! Don't judge a book by its cover. Please consider that if you ban amstaff/pit bull breeds that you will hurt many great people and their companions for life. If you owned this breed you would understand how we feel! Don't take away peoples choice of what breed of dog they can own. Please don't ban these types of dogs, they are our children and our life.
i am against any pitbull ban i own a red nosed and he is the best dog i have ever had. the state of ohio is also trying to ban them but not in my town yet so please help me fight this.
I would just like to let everyone know that in Winnepeg,Saskatchewan they put a pitbull ban into effect some years ago, since then there have been no pitbull attacks, what information that has been withheld is all other dog attacks/bites have gone up 33% ...... this should tell anyone that it is not the breed it is the owner. Pitbulls are gentle giants!!!
i dont have a pitbull but i do have a toy poodle...so u see i too have a dog as visious if not more than the pitbull dogs. i hope everyone in the usa smartens up and sees dogs arent killers it's the cats we have to keep an eye on!
We are owners of a American Staffordshire Terrier, and we are responsible pet owners and treat our dog with love and have trained and socialized her.
She is very human and dog friendly.
IT's not the breed it's how the animal is treated and taken care of, why should responsible dog owners suffer for what other's have done, it's not fair to the animal nor the owners cause of what other unresponsible owners have done.

In France, we had a law motivated againnstt people using pitbulls or rotweillers as a protection for drug trafficking.
Now, law just asks for pitbulls to be on the streets with something to close their mouth when they are outside.
People seems to respect that, and avoid more problems

i had a pure bread pitbull; she was the baby of our family and the biggest sucky u'd ever know. she was an awsome dog and use to sleep with the kittens we had just got but sadly she had to be put down she became ill and we had the pressure of this stupid law and our landlord forcing us to let her go. i miss her to death and i will never forget her baby personality and how gentle she was with everyone and the kittens. and how she would wag her tale with excitement every time some one came to the door. as well how she would curl in a ball and cry every time some one left.i miss u echo! she was an amazing representation of her breed and they are an awsome race of dogs that should be held on to. dont let go and dont give up!
My Dalmatian, as a breed, is considered to be one of the most likely to bite a human...Will this breed be next? A dog is a dog until the will of BAD HUMAN changes that...go after the people who would turn an otherswise sweet dog into a problem. It's not the dogs fault. And for those of you who can vote...make sure this BRYANT guy doesn't have a job next time around.
Where are the stats??? I haven't seen any proof of this breed being anymore aggressive then every other dog, if at all. Ask anyone if they've ever been bitten by a dog and no one will respond that it was by a pitbull. They were never bred to be aggressive towards humans! PUNISH THE DEED, NOT THE BREED!

hey guys, i hated pets, on honbest to truth i used to be scared of a little yorky terrier but i met my friendc chris, and you know what, pitbulls are just like any other dog, not any dangerous and not any more different. i "LOVE" these dogs, if there were any random dog id still love them, changed my ways completely about dogs, i might get one ;). but a small one :P.... be easy

I used to have a pitbull once in my life, and people are the ones that teach pitbull how to act by the way they are treated. I think that if if this petition works, then maybe there can be a piybull training school to teach them how to act.

I have 3 Pit Bulls and I have had them for years now not once have they gone at anyone of have even tried its all in the way they are raised. if they are raised to be mean then thats what they'll be it's people out there that know they have a strong dog then they end up making a bad name for the rest of us....i agree with what Mr.Chris Palubiski said getting rid of your Dog is like getting rid of one of your Family members....

I have a 4 month old pit bull and I have a 4 year old son and that dog and himare best of friends...Plus most of my friends my pitters and they are very friendly to be around.. Why doesn't Ontario focus more on problems like homeless people and stuff like that.... I agree with this protest 100% I'm one of many out there that will back this all the way...think of it as I do getting rid of your dog is like getting rid of a family member my dog is my kid......
I agree completly agree. when i was 5 i had a pet pitbull and a pet rotweiler and they were the most loving sensitive and caring and loyal pets i ever owned. people need to either get their facts straight or not speak at all!

I own two pitbuls and they are two of the most friendly dogs you will ever meet.....it isnt the pets its the owners. I think that banning them is not the solution but instead an easy answer .I think that instead of banning them Society should instead offer very harsh prison terms for people that cause the animals to be aggressive which causes all the attacks we hear about today... On top of that people are brainwashed into thinking pitbulls are bad dogs because if a pitbull they knock over a kid its front page but if a lab rips someones face off its on the 7th page

I am a veterinary technician who has 3
pit bulls myself that have all been saved. I have placed 54
pitbulls and NOT 1 has come back or has
hurt anyone. It is important to understand the breed and know
their strength but they are smart and loyal and
most of all LOVING!! The ban would be inhumane. Can we start banning
the people who want to ban breeds of dogs. It is always some breed
it was rotties, dobies now pitts.It is ignorance that starts
these bans. The news doesn't help either.
The dogs you hear about are abused, neglected, unsocialized,
taunted and baited by small moving
animals and fought unmercilessly. I have seen
dog fights at their worst while working
at University of Pennsylvania Emergency room for
animals. 90% of the pits that came through went mean at
all-Scared and haveing never had love. Stop these

I really hate it when people are too ignorant to educate themselves about the pit bull breed. I have quite a few pit bulls and they have all been rescued by my mom. They have been taken out of horrible situations and regardless of the abuse and neglect that they went through they are still big loves. Pit bull bans are stupid and pointless. I am getting really sick of hearing about these bans. What is next...are you going to start banning the race of people who commit the highest crimes???This is ludacris.
Michael Bryant has COMPLETELY IGNORED 12 associations that have attempted to educate him about the pit bull breed. He still says that he has no compelling evidence that claims that pit bulls aren't vicious. Pit bulls need our help desperately not our hate. Every year there are 600 pit bulls in the U.S. shelters, only 1 of those pit bulls will be adopted out. The 599 will be put to sleep. That doesn't include pit bull mixes or pit bulls that have been fought. That is a really sad statistic. Atleast it is for me. I have a year old female named Deja who is just a love bug. She gives kisses to everyone including my 5 and a half month old daughter Alexis. Alexis squeals with delight and giggles when Deja comes and lays next to her and starts kissing her. Please educate yourself about this wonderful breed.
Pitbulls are one of the most loving breed of dogs out there!!! It's not the dog that's nasty- it's the scum of the earth people who train them to be that way. Just because you ban this breed doens't mean the problems will stop-you need to after the real cause- the people who train them.
