I support this petition. I have been around alot of pits, & I have seen
ones that are miss treated & ones that have a great life... ANY dog
reacts for a reason and also depending on how it was raised & treated..
People get trained to kill in war and defend themselves when necessary..How
can we punish an animal for doing exactly the same thing, what it was
trained to do.. Dogs are as bad as their treated no matter what breed, I
don't care what any1 says. A dog who is treated properly all it's life WILL
be a great pet. U miss treat it and it will strike back.. I definitely
support this petition.. NO1 has the right to murder a creature..Pits are
bred as fighters and protectors 90% of the time for the "cool
factor" and money in dog fighting.. How fair is it that the dog gets
killed & the person who turned them mean gets a fine or 1yr in jail? I
feal so strongly about this situation and it rages me so much!!!!! Before u
know it states will be euthanizing all cats for being dangerous strays...
Where is it the injustice gonna end???????? |

I support this petition because I'm a proud and responsible owner of two
Pit Bulls. They let my grandson of a year and a half crawl all over them,
lay on them with out even a flinch.... they are just dogs and all dogs have
to learn manners.. No matter what breed!!! It's the BAD Owners that get
away with training the dogs to be bad..... I feel a law needs to be passed
and supported in all states letting evil owners know they will be the ones
euthanized if they abuse any animal or teach aggression to a dog of any
sort. |

These bans are disgraceful and done only out of fear, which in itself is a
pathetic reason. Pitbulls are just innocent animals that are misunderstood
due to unreasonably negative stereotypes and media coverage. If people
would open their minds, they'd realize that the only ones that should be
punished are the negligent owners that raise the few pitbulls that cause
these negative stereotypes. |

I have owned Pit Bulls my whole life! I can honestly say i have never owned
an aggressive Pit Bull! Most Pit Bulls that are aggressive come from owners
who have taught them to be aggressive! Any dog breed and many dog breeds
are aggressive! Why dont we start focusing our time on the people that make
pit bulls aggressive! |

Pits are amazing dogs. In Winnipeg, the bite numbers went up by about 100
since they were banned. Funny, huh? My rescued(fight bait)pit is the
sweetest dog in town. I've had him for 7 years and it would kill me, my
family, and the neighbors if anything happened to him... Or his Pitty
friends...There is no REAL reason to ban them. |

This is the very reason why I cannot stand ignorant people. In every human
race, there are a select few that are bad. Should we try to irradicate an
entire race because of those bad few. Well, I guess Hitler tried, and I
suppose he was a great guy too, right?? Why ban a breed because of a few
bad stories (which half of them may be a bit stretched might I add) and
misconceptions. I have met MANY sweet pitbulls that I would trust with my
life. I would trust a pitbull more than I would a poodle. This is a

I agree with the statement that there is no such thing as a bad breed but
infact bad owners. I strongly feel that it is how you raise your dog. I
have seen poodles to german shepards that are far more aggressive than a
pit bull. It is insane to put a ban on a certain breed simply due to its
reputation. |

American Pit-bulls are incredible dogs. I have many friends and family with
well behaved pit-bulls who have never shown the slightest aggression toward
humans. and almost all of these get along with other dogs and some even get

a mixed pit who is the sweetest most loving dog ever. The best dog I have
ever had and not a mean bone is his body. Individuals need to be punished,
