29 Jan 2007 - 10:58    Heather LaPlantagenet : They should learn that it's not in the dog's nature to be mean. Like humans, they're taught what to do and feel. This ban is one of the most outrageous bans I've ever seen.
29 Jan 2007 - 20:00    DEB : I have a Jack Russell Terrier that is more agressive than any pit bit I have met!!!!! She loves people, and she was trained well and not abused and loved very much. That is what makes the difference...LOVE. You give love and you get love in return. Pit bulls are great dogs. Euthanize the bad owners, and anyone caught making them fight. Now that is a petition I would sign....
29 Jan 2007 - 21:47    Hae Mi Cho :
30 Jan 2007 - 2:54    Vanessa : I say that my pitbull is my baby and I would give my life for her. This is justanother form of discrimation. It should be illegal too.
30 Jan 2007 - 2:58    Maggie : BAD OWNERS does not equal BAD ANIMALS. If some humans are bad, should we ban them too? This is BULL!
30 Jan 2007 - 11:40    Chrissy : Aggressive dogs come from bad environments. Quit blaming the dogs for learned behavior from undeserving owners. They're victims!
30 Jan 2007 - 16:32    Christian Latoja :
30 Jan 2007 - 21:25    Sarah Lyon :
30 Jan 2007 - 23:26    Hasmin Salas : banning pit bulls is purely human ignorance... please protect these animals. if there has to be something done, then punish those people who disrespect these animals. humans can't decide on which animals to get rid of. they have every right to live as much as we do. if you don't have the appreciation for something that can offer love, loyalty, friendship, protection, and many more good and rare qualities, then at least do something helpful: do not get a pit bull (or any other pet). Get a life.
31 Jan 2007 - 0:26    Rachel Graff : Its not the dogs that are mean its the trainers. There are so many other creatures that kill people and i dont see california trying to kill them. no creature deserves to die.
31 Jan 2007 - 0:46    Eun Kim : It should be the owner that is punished not the entire breed of dog! That's ridiculous and sterotyping which is against the law for us to punish someone or assume guilt just for the way they look.
31 Jan 2007 - 1:23    Mandy Runk : any breed can grow up to be aggressive, not just pits, i have met more aggressive smaller breeds than i have pit bulls, they are very loyal and obedient if raised correctly
31 Jan 2007 - 5:41    jman :
31 Jan 2007 - 7:56    Melissa Klingerman : Foolish politicians are just looking for things to ban. Cigarettes and cars kill far far more people then any dog ever will.
31 Jan 2007 - 9:14    Paul M. : Put that effort to enforcement of animal rights, so that fewer pitbull owners raise the animals to attack, but rather to be gentle, as many know they can be.
31 Jan 2007 - 11:49    Dan N. : Punishing an entire breed for something that is not their fault is inexcusable. It is discrimination by closed minded people that stereotype the animal.
1 Feb 2007 - 0:03    Abria Queen : I had a pit bull who was kind, gentle, and playful. It's terrible that the breed is being punished for the owners bad choices.
1 Feb 2007 - 0:58    Stacey : This is insane! I just read about this in an artical on the internet and I am disgusted!! Due to the stupidiy of irresponsible owners who train their dogs to fight... the rest of the loving parents have to suffer. All I have to say is, the person who is attempting to try and pass this law is inhumane, and apparently not an owner of a dog. And if it this person is a dog owner, see how much they would like their pet taken away!!!! A pit bull is a dog and is trained to be the way they are. Maybe next they will try to ban Yorkies because they are too small, or kittens because they scratch!!! THIS DISGUSTS ME!!!!
1 Feb 2007 - 1:17    Sondra Arrache : I never stop being shocked a appalled by the knee jerk reactionary qualities of under educated and misinformed humans. What a pitiful species we are as a whole. We should ban stupid people, not dogs. While I'm at it what about all the other dangers facing us like environmental degradation, cars, guns and hunger just to name a few? Check out these websites www.atts.org (this is the national canine temperment association so you can see how pitbulls measure up in temperment), www.workingpitbull.com/tr uthaboutpeta.htm, and www.nokillnow.com/Pitbull sLetter2Peta.htm thanks for this petition.
1 Feb 2007 - 5:24    Kristen G. : Arrest the idiots who train animals to attack or become aggressive. The human is at fault NOT the animal. And remember to spay/neuter your animal.
1 Feb 2007 - 6:11    Sarah Reeves :
1 Feb 2007 - 6:46    casey corless : the breed should not be banned at the mosti think people wanting a pitbull should take some kind of class on them.there the best dogs i love them they are loyal.and very good dogs if not miss treated.
1 Feb 2007 - 8:31    Anastassia :
1 Feb 2007 - 19:05    Aidan Pelkey :
1 Feb 2007 - 23:10    Jessica Ramirez : All too true. I just hope I'm not too late...I fear the breed specific legislation has become law. Even though I don't live in California, I think it's biased and ignorant.
2 Feb 2007 - 1:01    Jim S :
2 Feb 2007 - 6:01    Lynn Ernest :
2 Feb 2007 - 23:08    lauren moore : STUPID HUMANS
4 Feb 2007 - 3:32    M. Villegas :
4 Feb 2007 - 7:13    Andy Gonzales : This is ridiculous that because of bad parenting by pet owners they are even willing to consider banning the breed. I would rather see the owners of the bad upbringing euthanized.
4 Feb 2007 - 22:14    Jayson : Ban Bush.
4 Feb 2007 - 23:50    Noelle Chaban : A society is judged by the way they treat their animals. Have owners of all pitbulls take training classes, you stupid-ass la-makers...don't just kill them because you can. That is not human!
5 Feb 2007 - 3:33    Anna Hutcheson : If we feel threatened, we protect ourselves. So why are we punishing another living thing for a common reaction?
5 Feb 2007 - 3:55    AJ Pacelli : The danger is the unresponsible owners; they should be the ones euthanized!
5 Feb 2007 - 9:55    Mikey Glozier : this law must not pass. to say all pitbulls are innately aggressive is no different that saying all black people are thieves. it is simply not true. aggression is not an innate characteristic. treat the cause - aggressive owners - not the effect.
5 Feb 2007 - 12:55    Bonita Colvin : It' the owners, not the breed. They can be very sweet. Teenage boys need not apply!
6 Feb 2007 - 5:31    Mary : I support this petition 100% and hope my voice is heard. I am an owner of 2 pitbulls - both are beautiful loyal animals. I treat them well and they treat me well. What if we said we should exterminate owners who abuse and mistreat these animals and make them into defensive creatures? Would that be right? They do what they are taught. Not only is this immoral but unethical to blame an animal for it's owners treatment and actions. People we need to stop this - I don't live in California but if it starts there it's soon to make it's way to the East Coast and I am not giving up my family members because of someone else's mistakes.
7 Feb 2007 - 1:20    rachel :
7 Feb 2007 - 7:38    cameron compton : i love my beautiful pitbull and so does everyone else that meets her
8 Feb 2007 - 4:24    jamin biconik : I'm still morning the loss of my best friend; a red nose brindle Pit Bull named Scrappy. He was a fine ambassador of his breed and changed many peoples minds about Pit Bulls. He was rescued at 8 weeks from a life of pain and abuse. You see Scrappy was destined to be a champion fighter and line his owners pockets with blood money like his father did before him. My wife and I gave him a new life full of love and friendship. We raised him properly and although he looked intimidating he was gentile and sensitive. He was obedient to the extreme and loved children and cats. He was a fearless protector that would have given his life to protect the ones he loved (how many people can you honestly say that about). His mere presents kept my wife and I from harm more times then we'll ever know. The only times I ever saw him as much as show his teeth to a human where justified. Both times we where on vacation and someone was obviously casing us out with the possible intent to mug or car jack us. One look at him sent them packing. Somehow I doubt that any breed not on the “ban list” would have had the same effect. Scrappy met his end as the result of the second class treatment for a urinary infection the resulting complications he received from a vet who like many uneducated people feared Pit Bulls. Unfortunately we found out too late that that particular vet has a history of giving second class treatment to the all of the warrior breeds. By the time we figured that out and took him to a competent vet it was too late. The competent vet confirmed that if the proper action would have been taken by the other vet when we first brought him in he could have been saved. I'll never forget his last moments and the pain of making the decision to put him to sleep. It was more like deciding whether to euthanize an adopted son than a pet. He was holding on to life with every fiber of his being even with a burst bladder, complete renal failure, and blood work that
8 Feb 2007 - 6:43    Juliette DiGiuseppe : This attempt at a pit bull ban is wrong on many levels. It is inhumane, not to mention heartless. Why does somebody else get to tell me which dogs I can and cannot have. Dogs are naturally loving and devoted animals. Agression is a learned trait and a helpless dog cannot be blamed. We cannot let the ignorant opinion of a few legislate the rights for us all.
8 Feb 2007 - 21:39    Marissa :
8 Feb 2007 - 22:40    Tim : A dog is only as good as the way humans have treated it!!!! This is garbage!
9 Feb 2007 - 1:47    Jessica Hawkey : Pit Bulls are not the problem!!!
9 Feb 2007 - 4:33    Megan Wiley :
9 Feb 2007 - 5:42    trena : I have 4 amer.staffordshire terriors (pit bulls) My daogs are the biggest babies and all they do is love on you they have changed the minds of everyone that has meet them. I don't know what I would do if they were to come and take them from me and my husband and kill them. I feel for those who have already lost they're babies you are incredibly strong for holding yourselfs together and you are in my prayers and just remember that they are waiting for you like good dogs do.
9 Feb 2007 - 6:18    Vicktoria : THIS IS SOME SERIOUS BS! F_ _ _! PPL THAT THINK THAT PITBULLS SHOULD BE EUTHANIZED IT JUST PISSES ME OFF MORE THAN YOU WHO THE F_ _ _ GIVES ANYONE THE RIGHT TO KILL A DEFENSELESS ANIMAL LIKE A MONTH OLD PUPPY?????!!!!! ESPECIALLY JUST BARGING INTO HOUSES?!!?!?!?! I SUPPORT THIS PETITION 110%
9 Feb 2007 - 10:08    lisa altoonian :
9 Feb 2007 - 21:48    Crystal Yates : People who believe that one certain dog is the only one who attacks people are ignorant, moronic, IDIOTS!!! I can't believe this is even an issue. The dogs' owners should be the ones who are punished. Caruthersville, MO is just as ignorant. They have already banned Pitbulls. It makes me sick.
10 Feb 2007 - 0:57    Sandy Altoonian :
