This truely shows us wrat is wrong with our system. Have we learned
nothing from the past. Our government should know better. We should ban
stupid laws and politicians.
Come to my home and attempt to murder my dog, you better bring your A
game baby.....
I will defend him as fiercely as he would defend me. Badge or no badge,
you have no right to enter my home and KILL a member of my family. DAMN
YOUR SELF IMPORTANT OPINION. The government is for the people, by the
people. They only have the power we give them. STAND UP AND BE COUNTED.

Upon adopting pets of certain breeds, the owner has a responsibility to
research the breed, find out it's history and what it was bred for,
talk to other owners of the breed, in order to have a better understanding
of their pet's thinking. This is ridiculous. |

Why should I be punished for the irresponsible acts of my fellow man. |

This ban is absolutely ridiculous. People need to focus on other major
problems that california has. People need to be responsible for their own
pets. Of all the dogs I have come across, pits are the most loving breed.
Another example of the government putting its nose where it does not
belong. If you are not going to take care of your dog, don't have
one.Plain and simple. |

humans created them and its our duty to protect them...as a veterinary

dog or person...but I have also see how much love they have to give and can
honestly say the home makes the dog,I understand trying to save them from a
life of fighting and abuse as a guard dog, but why not stop the people
resbonsible? ban the pit bulls and just another breed will take their place

Why do people think that a dog holocaust is any better than the WWII
holocaust? maybe that sounds a tad extreme, but animals have rights, too.
it's up to us to make sure that they are well taken care of, etc. yes
it's tragic when a child is bitten, but punish the owners, not the
dogs. im sure if people actually WATCHED their kids they'd be able to
make sure that wasnt happening. because theyd be there to keep their little
urchins from pulling ears & tails, poking eyes, hitting with toys, etc.
this is terrible and ridiculous and makes me sick to my stomach. |

Dave Narkunas :
The pitbull I knew was quiet, never barked and was very friendly. I think
it's just that pitbulls are getting a bad rap because of their fierce
loyalty. There always has to be a fiercest kind of ANY animal. The King
Cobra is the fiercest of snakes. It is what it is. The Polar bear has zero
fear of man and is the fiercest of bears. The great white is the fiercest
of the sharks. If there were no cobras, polar bears and great whites
something else would just take their place and they would become demonized.
This natural development of an animal TO BE WHAT IT IS is the reason for
the focus. It is not seen on its merits otherwise.
Banning pitbulls is like banning horses, cats, humans or any other animal.
They all have a tendency to be dangerous when THREATENED. It's their
genetic potential to be more tenacious in response is what sets piybulls
apart. They do it for a reason, not because they "just feel like
it", and that is what this is all about. |

poodles, pomeranians, chihu ahuas and all of the other small tempermental

they get so many chances and in most cases only to hurt again!!This is

i fully support this petition. dogs that are used for fighting are trained
to be that way. when any dog is born, no matter what breed, they do not
automatically bear the instinct to be aggressive. the dogs that are used
for fighting are trained and forced to be that way. it is not the breeds
fault that it is used for fighting. yes some certain breeds have a high
tolerance for pain which is why they are used in dog fighting. and it is
very unfortuante that the dog that is used in fights will most of the time
never again be able to be with a family who will treat it well. the dogs
are so used to having to defend themselves from other dogs that they are
unsure of how to act when they are not being beat or fighting to stay
alive. they are always on guard and since most get abused by there trainers
they are also fearful of humans.it is completely unfair to ban/exterminate
the pit bull breed b/c they are used in fights which in turn make them
agressive. there are many people who own pitbulls that are loving and
gentle towards their owners.also i agree with a prior post that said that
the media is quick to dramatize and report stories where pitbulls were
acting aggressively. i can honestly say that i have never heard any reports
on the news about pits or rotties that do good things.all you hear about is
how it attacked a little girl or something of that nature.it just breaks my
heart to know that anyone would want to punish a dog and even a whole breed
for the acts of their owners/trainers.i dont care what anyone says your
dogs are what you make them.its the people who should be punished not the
dogs.and for those of you who support the ban on pitts shame on you.i think
its completely absurd that the government would even consider allowing this
ban. what is the world coming to? |
