 New Mexico State Sen. Sue Wilson Beffort has proposed a bill that would ban the breeding of American Pitbull Terriers. If this bill is passed the breeding of pit bulls would be prohibited, owners of existing pit bulls would be required to neuter or spay the dogs as well as muzzle their dogs any time they are outside their home and new pit bulls will not be permitted in New Mexico after July 1, 2005. We as citizens of The United States of America believe that we have the right to own any breed of dog we choose, where as we also agree that there should be harsher laws on irresponsible dog owners and animal abusers. We ask Sen. Sue Wilson Beffort to please take note of the number of people who have come together as one to stand together for our rights as responsible dog owners. We also ask her to inform herself on the truth behind this breed, which is known for it's intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, capability for logical thinking and its desire to please. Punish the deed NOT the breed.

I havent heard much lately, but anything I can do to stop this from happening here and anywhere else, I will. I have two pit bulls and they're the sweetest dogs in the world. How anyone could hate these dogs for something they cannot control is beyond me. The problem lies with the *******s abusing them. They are the ones who need to be stopped. Let someone beat the **** outta them a couple times and see how they feel.

1,528 7 Sep 2007 - 6:00    Alicia Couslon : dont ban the pit bull,cause its not the dogs fault that there are heartless people that dont see wrong in abusing an animal to the point that the said animal will never trust again,i think that the people that are doing this to the pit bulls should be banned..the pit bull as a normal dog is not a mean animal it is very sweet like a border collie....if you abuse a poodle or a siant bernard every day and beat it and torture it it will eventually attack everything it sees move as a defensive move because it wont trust people, now if you beat and torture the same dog and put another dog in with the torturing then that dog will attack not only people to defend itself but dogs aswell making it a dangerious animal...so are you going to go and ban all dogs from the world because they all have the potential to be dangerious or the people that are making them dangerious.
