Playmakers was the best new show on television when it was released and it was interesting to all ages, all genders. Its a disgrace that there is no 2nd season planned.
If ESPN, instead of broadcasting the 2nd season, released it exclusively for DVD, it would sell better than any other series boxset. Just look at the first season and how successful it was when it was released on DVD.
What a farce, TV is all about rating, popularity and good shows, Playmakers had it all, a winning formula some might say, so of course the natrual thing to do is cancel it right? DUH? Sometimes what seems so obvious, is ignored. Please, please do a second series, its the best thing on TV by a mile.
This is the best show I have ever seen, it was more gripping than any given sunday and had more realistic storylines than anything across the board. Especially now that the NFL has signed a contract to only lease its name and players to EA Sports, ESPN NEEDS to bring this miracle of television back to the airwaves, it being cancelled is the largest travesty I have ever seen.
This was a great show. In no way did this make the nfl look bad. There are tons of movies that make athletes, cops, etc. all look bad and no one complains about them.
Bring it back!!! Its unessecary to cancel this show. Damn scared *****es at ESPN had to cancel it. Put it on Showtime or HBO. Just BRING IT BACK!! BRING IT BACK!
If the NFL thinks that it is shows like playmakers that helped along its bad image there wrong. Its the actions of there real life players, not the fictional players of the cougars. Any NFL players currently in legal issues, J.lewis. This Nation and Canada has a clear passion for football and there is no reason that a show that feeds into that passion should be canncelled to satify the unfounded wants of the No Fun Leauge.
I just bought the Playmakers DVD, and I must say that I'm shocked that ESPN would buckle to the pressure from the NFL. This show has something to offer. Put it back on the air!
I cannot believe the show has been cancelled it is one of the best shows that has ever been produced and was on a winner - I can't believe after one season it has been cancelled it is a disgrace shows like this do not come around very often and when they do it gets canned I cannot believe it
How can you cancel a show that is that good because you are afraid of it hurting the NFL? We love the NFL and we love this show, by taking the show off the air you are doing more to hurt the NFL then help it. Listen to the fans. BRING THE SHOW BACK!!!
I think Playmakers should be back. It is not only about NFL but about all sports. If the show was cancelled is because there is interest in not to let us know what is really happening in sportsīworld.
Bring back playmakers. I just bought the dvd and it reminded me how good the show was. The show is better than watching the nfl. so if the nfl wants to be stupid and threaten ESPN about it, they should at least sell it to someone who doesnt air the NFL

The show should DEFINETLY be brought back on the air. That was easily the best I've ever seen. Note to the NFL: we not too stupid to know that this is just a show and that not every team has this happen to them.
Please, bring back Playmakers. I loved this show and hate that politics got involved with the series. If ESPN is too scared to bring it back, perhaps HBO should take a look at it. Do it now!!
i just bought the complete series from the states after watching the show here in the uk 4 episodes in i pleed for the show to return and become a class of its own and has found a place in my heart as the best tv sport drama....
Please bring back more of Playmakers! It was such a great show!! ESPN (or whoever buys the rights to the show), just do the right thing for all of us, and you'll make money!
I'm from the UK and not really a fan of Grid Iron. This was however a great show. You see stuff that has gone on before in ALL professional sports and seeing how these made up characters deal with their career and their professional life was highly entertaining.
If this was an English show and about football (the real kind!) and made in this country at least one channel would have the BALLS to keep it on!
If there is a FOOTBALL GOD, the grid-iron lord would be dipleased with the decision of no more Playmakers. Please, to heal the pee-wee footballer in you, and to appease the FOOTBALL GOD, bring back PLAYMAKERS to syndicated television!!
