This show was awesome, I got all of my friends hooked on it, only to have it cancelled after only 8 episodes. FOX are absolute morons who wouldn't recognise a gap in the market if it walked up to them and said 'exploit me' I too am sick of the same old tired reality tv shows, who gives a crap about American Idol?
I understand FOX cancelled this show due to lower than anticipated ratings ~ well guess what FOX? That's because everyone EXPECTS you to cancel the good shows; no one's gonna tune in to something when the season finale will never see the light of day.
I love Marti Noxon shows, but do yourself a favour hunny, next time you write an incredible original piece of programming like Point Pleasant; either don't sell it to FOX, or make sure you get a 'must air all epsisodes' clause written in to the contract.
It sucks that Point Pleasant was killed three months ago. It was such a great show to watch. I think Fox and those other networks wasted so much talent and time on reality shows that it's no wonder great shows like PP fail to catch on. And I thought it would make us happy if we got a little revenge on Fox by saying three important words: YOU SUCK FOX!!!!
I can't belive they cancelled it just when it was getting good and I was totally into it .devastated that I won't see final episodes BRING IT BACK FOX or at least release it on D.V.D.
Cancelling a comedy makes sense since you don't build up to a conclusion. Cancelling a show like this seems silly - they could have just scheduled it on Sunday or Monday night when it would have no competition.

Well, Point Pleasant was a great show. It is really irresponsible of FOX to cancel it prematurely, and DON'T inform their viewers. It was as if the show never existed, they took everything from the web site. I wish there was a law to punish irresponsible TV stations, but we can punish them by not watching the shows..

Point Pleasant was seriously a great show. I never watch TV, yet I watched that show religiously! I even stopped going out Thursday nights to watch it! Bring it back!!!!
I would really love to see the series, with the unaired episodes on DVD. its ridiculous that fox cannot let a series develop & find its footing. hopefully since poor wonderfalls, which only aired 4 times, got a dvd, maybe point pleasant will get one, too.

how could you cancel this show and keep quintuplits and stacked. at least the cast of point pleasent could act, and this is curently an ignored genre so wouldnt it be smart to supply when in demand! damn you fox
I am so tired of networks taking an "original" idea (So sick of reality tv I could scream) and pulling it off the air before it even gets off the ground. Maybe if they had given the show a chance and had some continuity, viewership would have been up (changed days/times - no episode - repeat episode) But yet the same "lousy" programming continues to fill the channels. American Gothic (same genre) was another casualty of cancellation. And I don't understand why the remaining episodes can air out of the country and yet if we are "lucky" we can "purchase" them on DVD. Why don't you just air them during the summer season instead of rehashing the crap you put on during the year?????
I learned a few years ago when Fox canceled Dark Angel that its not worth getting too involved with any programming in Fox. Fox will spend months hyping up a show and cut it loose on the fly. Point Pleasant seemed like a good show, I saw the first few episodes and have all of the rest stored in my digital recorder, I purposely avoided watching the newer episodes because I figured Fox was going to cut the show short after the lackluster ratings. I realize in the tv industry it is all about ratings but Fox seems to forget there is also a thing called public support.
Fox has built up a bad reputation for their new show premieres and now people don't watch because they don't like having programming cut off without answers or at least an advertised "series finale" which I feel all networks should do, even if they wait to air the rest of the season in the summer instead of reruns. On July 4th, 2005 on Showdown.net there will be a new site launching to deal with this problem.
I've been waiting for weeks to see new episodes, and now find out it's canceled....I tell ya, FOX really sux. The nielson system is not right, it's 30 years out of touch.
We loved Point Pleasant and have been waiting every week for it to come back on~ didn't know it was cancelled! Was a really good show~ had us waiting til the next Thursday to see what was gonna happen next. It's ashame they keep cancelling the good shows~ Yet they keep "Life on a Stick" Go figure!! Now we just have to wonder what was gonna happen. Hope it comes out on DVD~ Would DEFINATELY buy it!!
It is a travesty!!! My week did not run from Sun to Sat, it ran from Point Pleasant to Point Pleasant. It was the only thing I looked forward to next week. If we do not get Point Pleasant back on the air, we need to boycott the Fox Network. We need to arrange a million man Point Pleasant march onto Fox's front lawn. GET IT BACK, OR ELSE!!!!!!!
I have been waiting for the show to come back on you showed some great previews. I check my tv guide every Thursday night looking for Point Pleasent. It was the most new a different show on tv. It was like Steven King only sexy. I hope you will at least put the whole season on dvd so I can at least buy it. I would like to see what happened after it went off.
i actually told employer that i can't work on thurs.night anymore b/c i love point pleasant so much and i am not a tv junkie. was on vacation and wouldn't leave hotel room til i caught the show...please bring back. my mom even got into it. and now other networks are stealing the supernatural idea...revelations...medi um...come on...please bring back

I am completely shocked that this show was cancelled; I have been waiting for weeks to see an episode not knowing it was cancelled. Were the ratings that bad? If so I am shocked this was a great show. I looked forward to Thursday evenings when the show was on. I think the show should be brought back into production this was a great storyline. Now you left us hanging with questions what would have happened???? Point Pleasant was the only thing I watched on FOX. Now I have no reason to tune in to anything on FOX ,very poor and tactless judgment call made.
I too have been waiting for Point Pleasant to air again. I am disappointed that is has been cancel and would like for it to be brought back. It is a very interesting show and I would continue to watch it if brought back.

I mean Point Pleasant was so interesting, it reminded me of buffy I dont think fox made a smart move, if they dont bring it back i dont think i'll watch fox again, i mean who runs the station anyways? This is a really good show and I am sick of everyone cancelling the good shows and leaving the crap like The O.C. and Desperate Houswives and Life on a Stick and Stacked. If you don't save the show at least put the season on dvd!
I love Point Pleasant!! I can't believe that you canceled the show after only showing 8 of the episodes. What were you thinking!! i miss my show. i loved it so much. i can't believe you all would just go and cancel it and leave its entire fan base in suspense. it had no time to grab a fanbase as someone has said and its a terrible shame that without any warning it was taken off air. please finish the season off or release a season DVD.
stop cancelling sjows before they have a chance to grab an audience. most great shows didn't get a huge fanbase till their 2nd or third season. point pleasant is a great show
