What I don't understand from those of you who seem...confused on this subject, its the freedom to pray, not the forcing thereof. And for you 'Seperation of Church and State' people, that was made to prevent the church from taking over and reigning on a set government, much like we experienced in Great Britain before our ancestors traveled here. No one is saying, 'The Government should force religion', but instead 'Allow the practice thereof'. people on here just want to express their religious belief without persecution, and I believe this is a right Petition to stand by. Know the facts of our government before assuming what we do/or do not stand for, and before you criticize the statements made by others.

i believe prayer should be in schools because god has brought us so far and i feel that we need to thank hin and praise him for blessing us so the blessings can keep coming to the school finances etc........ im a firm believer and i also believe when your down to nothing god is up to something.. thank you and have a blessed day...

I think it should be let back into schools for the people that do believe in god and we don't all have to pray to the same god in schools but at least we can all pray to the god that we believe in. The nonbelievers do make a great point although if your parents dont believe and they dont want to bring you to church you can always go to school and pray with your friends and peers. It will also open people that dont believe to maybe open up to god and a religion. And I think it can really help out the schools. And to those of you who disagree I'm not saying that by having prayer in school we are going to force you into a religion but it might open up the possibility of god to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer is already allowed in school. If you want to say a prayer during lunch, no one's going to stop you. But why should people who aren't Christian be forced to pray to Jesus? You wouldn't pray to Hindu Gods.
