I support this petition. Bus service between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti is essential, especially to reduce the parking crunch on the University of Michigan campus.
I support this petition. This will not only affect those people who depend on the bus everyday directly but will also affect those companies and individuals affected by the cut indirectly. This is some individuals only means of transportation. It will further decripple what Ypsilanti is trying to build on. This will be a true disservice to many who need it.
I support this petition. Many elderly, students, and others take the bus to work, get groceries and neccessities of life.We need to look at other budget saving options before dropping a service people depend on.
This is the only transportion that a lot of people rely and depend on. Not only the elderly, but those that have physicall and mental handicaps, that will never allow them to drive or may not have access to transportion.
If we are to end our addiction to petroleum, reliable public transportation is essential. Please maintain current levels of public transportation, at least. The best of all solutions would increase routes and frequency, to make the public transportation system more useful and appealing to a larger number of riders.
I support this petition. Public transportation is absolutely imperative in the current economy. To cut off service is to cut people off from life and livelihood.
I support this petition. Instead of putting vital public transportation on the chopping block we should be knocking down the President and his right-wing colleagues' doors demanding that this ridiculous tax-cut scheme that puts the crunch on state and local governments and state and local economies is junked.
I support this petition.
It is very important to many people who cannot afford a car. In addition, there are MANY people with special needs that live in the community who DEPEND on this bus line. This allows these people who may never drive a car to get to and from work. Stopping this busline will just isolate them from living a "normal" life and being like "everyone else."
I support this petition. It is important to note that the routes between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti have the most riders of any AATA routes. Reducing the bus service would effect much of Ann Arbor's low wage workforce, who cannot afford to live within the city, and would thereby exacerbate the parking issues facing downtown.
I support this petition. Before I had a car here in Ann Arbor, the service to Ypsi was useful. It's especially critical for teens to be able to get to The Corner for health care.
I support this petition. If we are trying to build our local communities and support the livelihood of all residents, we need adequate public transportation between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
If we're trying to be less dependent on foreign oil curtailing or omitting bus service to Ypsilanti is not a wise idea. Also, not everyone owns a vehicle.
I support this petition. Water street debacle-- says it all! Cuts maybe should begin and end at the corner of Michigan and Huron, top to bottom. Hmmmmmm, can anyone say 'receivership'?
I support this petition, and if you want Ypsilanti to remain a vital part of the growing Ann Arbor economy, you will too. Uninterrupted bus service to Ann Arbor gives Ypsilanti a unique status among Ann Arbor's bedroom communities. If we lose that, we become just another rapidly-decaying Rust Belt discard.
I support this petition because the AATA means that people who do not have their own means of transportation can have access to employment and needed services. It also makes sense for our attempt to conserve energy and cut down on the emissions that go into the air.
I support this petition. People consider whether to live, shop, or work in an area based on transportation options. Reducing bus service makes it harder for people to support a community, as well as harder for people who already live there.
I support this petition because people in living in Ypsilanti are just as important as those living in Ann Arbor. Alot of familuies use the bus to keep their household circulating! (School,Work, and other important needs.)
I support this petition. The service is crucial for our city to meet the needs of many of our citizens. We have a poplulation of people who rely on AATA for their survival to provide for their families.
I support this petition. Some of our "School of Choice" students at Ypsilanti Public Schools rely on the AATA for transportation to and from school. Our students also us the bus system as transportation after school from sport activities and or after school groups.
